The Sabbat Worlds Crusade! The Battle For Balhaut And The Death Of The Archon And The Warmaster

Balhaut was the center of chaos operations in the sabbat worlds and the beating heart of the Archons empire! But more so then that it was a key step on the saints path to conquer these planets in the Emperors name millennia ago! And Warmaster Slaydo intended to follow in those footsteps! But can he manage it? The Imperial Navy would need to execute a complex strategy and the Imperial Guard would then have to drop into the teeth of massive Chaos forces. Casualties would be devastating. But the rewards might be greater still.

  1. On a transport ship traveling through the warp, the crew try to ignore the daemons scratching at the flimsy Gellar field.

Squat: …Where are we going ta die again?
    Cadia: Does it matter?
    Squat: (shrugs) Suppose not.
    Krieger: (gossips in gas mask)
Cadian; Balhaut? Really? With the War Master?
    Krieger: (confirms in gas mask)
Tech Priest: Statement: Command has been moving troops around to confuse the enemy and any spies that may have embedded themselves in our units.
Bloody Henry: I DO NOT KNOW WHERE I AM! ALL I KNOW IS I MUST KILL FOR THE SKU-GOLDEN THRONE!
Cadian: …(sniffles a patriotic tear) Throne Damn right, Henry.

  2. One of the things i really like about this Crusade and lore is that the regular Imperial Citizens mostly stay loyal and the majority of the fighting is done by established Chaos units. On Balhaut we know that at least some civilians fought with bolt action rifles against Chaos.

No spoilers but Gaunt actually visits his own memorial chapel and geta corrected by the tour guide that actually he is dead.

  3. If Cybon and Draver would know that up until this point the Crusade was only a foreplay, they wouldn't be so eager to take Slaydo's place. What Urlock Gaur and Anakwanar Sek had to offer was much more than what these carrierists could afford to accept…

  4. i can appreciate the little guy… like that Ibram dude you mentioned. Yet another red shirt, doing his duty, got his 5 seconds of fame and that' it. It's not like he's going to contribute anything more to the crusade… and yet, there he is fighting…
