This week I saw so many people talk about missing out on a better price for a Royal Caribbean drink package because they didn’t follow this simple advice.

  1. Thanks for this video! I had bought the RC Deluxe Drink package at a 20% savings when I originally booked my cruise. However, after watching this video, I learned I could cancel and rebook if a better price came along. I did that tonight because the July 4th sale cut the price to 30% of regular pricing. Thank you so much for the info!

  2. You NEVER get the value out of your drink package. It is stupid to buy. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. That said, we bought it for our upcoming Oasis cruise. 😉
I know I'm going to lose money, but the peace of mind of not worrying about what each drink costs is worth it. Plus, if I need to walk away from a drink that I'm not done with, I don't care. The next one is already paid for too.

  3. The mistake even experts make is…not taking ALL drinks into consideration. Bottled water for ports and room, soda during lunch, prepared coffees for breakfast, juice bar and energy drinks, a glass of wine for dinner, sea day cocktail/mocktail, casino beer or sports bar beer. ALL drinks should be taken into consideration not just alcohol.

  4. the deluxe drink package says they cover drinks that are priced $12 and under but on the RC blog as of June 2022 almost all of their mixed / frozen drinks are priced $13. anybody have any suggestions on this

  5. The drink package was a dream come true for me and my wife and I will try to list the reasons:

    – Fresh orange juice for breakfast
    – Double espressos every morning and sometimes in the evening
    – A lot of alcohol (dont like what you ordered? get another one)
    – True holiday 0% worries dont think about money feeling (I am a worrier)
    – Gratuities included (I hate to think about tips)
    – Water bottles included (good to take to your room for the night)
    – All you can drink coke for hangover
    – Wife was cool about that "just one last beer and I am done" that ends up being 10 pints at the pub

I find it hard to believe that if you are a single/couple between the age of 20 and 30 years old you will not find it worth it. Unless, of course, you dont find any of my reasons above to match your profile.

  6. I'm really upset that you can not share. The package is for 13 drinks a day – WHO DRINKS THAT MUCH? The package should be for at least 2 people.

  7. I don't like that if one person in the cabin gets a drink package, there other person must too. My husband likes to order cocktails on cruises but I will only have 3 or 4 the entire trip. Drink packages would work for him but not for me. So we do drinks as we go

  8. In my opinion, I think it’s strange that when you book a RC cruise you can’t pay for a drink package and all gratuities upfront and include them in your total price per person or per cabin!!!! Wondering Why ?!?!?!

  9. Depending on when the next cruise is, I always wait until the Black Friday sales, as many times any add-ons will be half off. I never book onboard, as add-ons are more likely to cost more than if I were to book them back home.

  10. I really hate that Royal gave in and made both parties get the package. I use to boast that RC did not make both guests in cabin get the package. I travel with a lot of people who dont drink much or at all but I do. It is unfair to make it all or nothing.

  11. One thing you forgot to mention is that many cruise lines require everyone in the stateroom to get the same drinking package, so you both need to be alcoholics for the duration, or one person needs to drink enough for the both of you. My next one with my boyfriend is a 7 night cruise at $76 a day, for two people. That’s $1,064 before gratuity. That’s an obscene amount of alcohol, considering there are three port days and we can bring two bottles.

  12. I know the drink package is per person but how strict are they when it comes to that? Can you get two drinks at a time or get one and give it to someone then come back for another?

  13. Until my last cruise I had not gotten a drink package but we found it to be well worth the price. We don't drink 15 drinks of alcohol a day but specialty coffees, soft drinks plus alcohol really add up. I recommend and most definitely buy prior to the cruise itself

  14. I just booked my second cruise on Royal Caribbean wondering if I can get a little help. Right now the drink package is $102 a day per person. I’m wondering how much the average glass of wine-Margarita-and soda are?? And is it Pepsi or Coke??

  15. I'm sailing on Oasis of the seas in January and the drink package is coming in at $94 per day for a 7 day cruise. That just seems to expensive for me! I don't even think we will drink every day..if we decided to stay sober for the first 3/4 days is it possible to then buy the package on the ship? Or do they jack the prices up with each sailing day to discourage it?

  17. RCCL drink packages go up and down a lot so no matter if book as you suggest or wait, it will go back down. I know I’m only a Diamond Plus member with just over 340 credits, but drink packages in my experience always go up and down on a weekly basis if not more. I don’t get them simply because I get 5 free a day….

  18. The latest offer for our April 2023 Oasis of the Seas, (with a Buy 1 get 2nd 50% off) is £71.30 pp ($86pp). This means the usual cost is $115pp! Has the standard price increased? That's means for us it would be over $1000 for 2 people for 7 nights and we would really need to sink over 8 drinks every day to start saving money.

  19. There are many Calculators online that you can use to add up how many of each kind of drink 🥤 🍺 🍹 you would drink to see if you would spend less or more comprared to a drink package

  20. You can always buy the package, and if the price goes down, cancel and repurchase. Or buy it when it is cheap, then cancel if you change your mind. I usually cancel and rebook stuff on my cruises at least 3 or 4 times.

  21. I am new to cruising and will be attending a New Years cruise. Is it possible to purchase drink packages for select days such as New Year’s Eve? Sometimes excursions are early in the morning and I likely will not drink the night before them so I don’t get hungover. If it’s not possible to purchase select days online, is it possible once on board? Might be cheaper than paying for the package on days I won’t drink

  22. Wife and I were just on the Harmony of the Seas back in May. She's not a drinker so I chose not to get the drink package. I got her instead the refreshement package because she could get fresh vegetable juices as part of the package from the spa cafe. I chose not to get the drink package because I felt it was way too expensive. Instead, i used our OBC to purchase my drinks and ended up settling up at the end of the cruise for an additonal $250. Way cheaper than paying $670 for the over priced drink package. Some say we should have used that OBC for specialty dining. We've been on several cruises where we payed for specialty dining and I must admint, I'd rather go to the MDR because for us, it was not worth the price.

  23. I have a question. I drink alcohol but my wife does not. Is it true that I have to purchase 2 Deluxe packages regardless? Logically for me I would get a Deluxe package for me and the middle package for her (coffee, soda, mocktails)

  24. The drink package is very convenient but also forces you to drink a ton of booze every single day to "break even" even at their expensive per drink prices. By day 3 or 4 you just aren't wanting that much booze and calories. My opinion.

  25. When we booked our cruise price was like $56.00 waited for it to come down, it didn't it went up to $64 I booked it and glad I did it's now up to $68 still hoping it drops but if it doesn't I'm not paying the higher price
