  1. Imagine if Halo 5 was Rookie as a Spartan IV with Reach style customization as the new character instead of Locke. You would also need to scrap the Created nonsense and bring the Banished in earlier, but it could have been an amazing game. Instead we get Locke and Rookie gets killed off screen, horrible writing.

  2. The fact that insurectionist are portrsyed as the good guys in the halo show is so damn insulting considering how many innocent people they kill and how many war crimes they commit in the lore

  3. This is different from what I remembered. I remember videos and the wiki telling about how his death was actually at the Hands of Captain Veronica Dare.

Dare and Rookie got captured by the Rebels that Mickey was part of. To prevent torture and interrogation, Dare shot a wounded Rookie in the head and then herself. Both of their deaths were suppose to be the reason why Buck agreed to become a Spartan iV.

  4. I dont understand killing off characters unceremoniously. They built up the rookie in ODST and then killed him in the book for no reason. They built up jul in books and halo 4 spartan ops then killed him in the opening of 5. They brought back cortana after her death in halo 4, then killed her off offscreen. Hell, the entire cast of halo 4 and 5 were missing in infinite as well as attriox until the post credits.

I don't understand why 343 does things the way they do. I feel like if they gave us a mainline game where master chief gets to meet the rookie or the arbiter people would love it. But theyre a mess who don't quite seem how to move forward

  5. Honestly I'm more upset they posthumously named him Johnathan. He was so obviously a Dante allegory in every way down to being guided by Virgil into a pit and they thought "let's just name him after the cooler protagonist"
