BIO
My name is Teanna and create public education videos in a way the does not point fingers at the individuals. I try to explain the systemic issues like capitalism, imperialism, and anti-Blackness. Hopefully raising awareness will lead to collective knowledge in order to dismantle these systems. It is important to do this using words and stories that are easy to understand because if we really want change, we cannot expect everyone tolerate jargon and overall boring teaching.

I enjoy creating community and providing content for those to discuss, find clarity, and enjoy can be difficult. I have been doing that in a haphazard way on YouTube. I want to base my talents on Patreon and actually stabilize my content creation. I will create content that speaks against anti-Blackness, Whorephobia, Fatphobia and more. This will also be a way for you to support the content that I have already posted on YouTube and will post going forward.

  1. I think she was just too young inexperienced and made a lot of mistakes. Unfortunately her family didn’t guide her as well as they could have. Hopefully she learned from her mistakes and does does thing positive

  2. Wow… just wow. How she speaks to her workers is exactly how I’ve been spoken to by an employer when I needed to be treated with dignity.

Some bosses remind me of my verbally (and otherwise) abusive/gaslighting, narcissistic, capitalistic ex.

  3. I think we are underestimating the value of personality and personability. She came off as very arrogant and entitled. So she made it easy to not care about her. I remember when several texts leaked from several different sources and people. She is brute, and that's putting it nicely. Plus I don't think the brand had a personality. I find it hard for brands to thrive without a personality to relate to.

As you mentioned she was 22 i know she’s wrong in a lot of aspects but not everything will be achieved in the outcome society wants it be

  5. I just wish there was incentive for people to learn more about the fundamentals of business operations and finance BEFORE actually starting these businesses. Cause I really see that being the common denominator with most entrepreneurs at any age, there’s a lack of research and education in the beginning that ends up spiraling beyond control because it’s extremely difficult to do that research and learning while operating an active business.

also, I’m a Gemini too 😂💛 loveeee watching you Fab!!

  6. This was really good, watching her downfall happen on Twitter was wild. She should know how often durags get washed why would she not have her logo stitched on instead of some cheap sticker 😂

  7. I love these business stories you do bc the downfalls are informative despite being sad. I've noticed that many young entrepreneurs make the mistake of not doing market research. Regardless of what she called this product, it still falls into the merchandise category of women's fashion headwear/ accessories, ie, hats, scarves, hair wraps. That category is high margin since the items are cheap to make, but it's a very small market here in the US since most women wear their hair uncovered the vast majority of the time. That's why there aren't many "Headwear only" brick-&-mortar stores besides those like Lids, which mainly sell sports caps for men. It seems like this girl was initially just selling to people online who wanted to support her personally.

Her best path to success would've been continuing online while seeking distribution contracts with local boutiques & eventually a big-box retailer like Target. Designing fashion is a very different skillset from running a store. It's rare that a person would be good at both, and there's no need to be. A designer is better off focusing on producing well-designed products that she sells to established retailers who know how to run stores profitably. Accessories are ideal for this because they're small, so boutiques can easily give you a display rack by the register or behind the counter. We call it the "impulse-buy zone."

I know it's a dream for many people to have their own physical shop, but the overhead costs are often prohibitive unless you sell expensive, high-margin products or services that folks like to go look at & buy in-person – like tattoos. I hope women watching this video can learn from it & see the value of keeping costs low by selling online & through existing stores while focusing on their design. 💞

  9. I haven’t made it through the entire video but a lot of us are used to paying slave labor prices for things. $40 is not that much if someone is being paid a livable wage. On average a seamstress should make $20-25 and hour. Most seamstresses have a minimum. If we are paying people what they are worth it wouldn’t be so shocking. Also I sew

Also I will ad she used heat transfer vinyl for her label and she should have embroidered it because that type of transfer doesn’t stick well to stretchy fabric or velvety fabric.
