Zombies have crawled, shuffled, and sprinted their way through pop culture for decades, but where did their reign begin, and why does it feel like they have returned to the grave? Well today, my dear killer cult, we explore the origins of the zombie phenomenon, from its terrifying rise in classic films to its explosion in gaming, TV shows, and beyond.

Vrolijk Kerstfeest hope we have a nothwr year with ya
So informative! I love this kind of content! Zombies are such an important creation in modern pop culture and media. Fantastic video and Merry Chrysler my friend! 🎄 🎅 🎉❤
I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH DUDE! Its really insane looking at the peak of "zombies culture" ALSO being the peak for cod zombies with bo1-3, so you can see that it definitely helped COD thrive. It is also crazy how zombies in pop culture still seems to captivate audiences with instances like train to busan. The genre THRIVES on character storytelling with how groups of people react to the outbreak. And how these groups of people interact with OTHER groups of people when faced with their fate slowly shambling towards them. LOVE YA MAN, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
I'm not sure zombies is in a fall at the moment. I will say maybe a few years ago, but when you got the Last of Us shows putting up numbers and the hype behind 28 years later being as big as it is, I'd say its on an upswing. (also marvels what if had their well received zombies episode as well)
I will say the fatigue was the space in between neegan killing Glenn and the Last of Us
Speaking of Zombies, you should do a video on Rob Zombie and his movies
If you want to try something different. Even it’s not straight up a zombie but very similar. Try “Dead Space 2023”. I’m personally a big fan of it and want more like this.
Merry zombie christmas
The poem had me subscribed before it ended
I was waiting this whole time thinking "If doesn't at least mention Project Zomboid I'm going to flip."
I have always been a huge zombie apocalypse fan as well as having written my own zombie apocalypse stories just for the fun of it. I will never not love zombies.
Did you get Owen Wilson to voice over that intro?
My favorite zombie virus is the one thats sexually transmitted, think they made 3 of those movies? Lmfao
My friend and I will make a zombie game on Roblox inspired by Cry of Fear, Resident Evil 7, and Star Wars: Death Troopers. The game is set in the year 2063, and no, that was my friend's idea, not mine, because she wants it to be set after the event of the War of 2042(a fictional war in my universe). My take on our zombies is that they act like the ones in Star Wars: Death Troopers, where they can learn how to use powers(Yes, just like Code 8, there are powered individuals in my universe.), and learn to use weapons and tech, but not that fast. My friend and I haven't started making a story for the game since I have been busy with life as usual, but hopefully, I will be able to bring the game to life someday. By the way, I like this video because I was wondering about the downfall of the zombie genre!
His idea was not his own. But he did reinvent them. Alot of people now days never even saw his first film. Notld was just a film that a few people shot in a farm.
Great video bro. I have loved zombies since I was 5 and this kind of a trip
Something I like about the zombie genre is how it kinda works like a ship of theseus, it need to reinvent itself with the only constant being that they are lesser humans. From the boring slave, the slow walker, the runner, the super zombie, the smart zombie which never took flight and for some reason only works in resident evil. It's also curious how a zombie apocalypse became the only fantasy scenario that people consider realistic
Cant stand that cringey voice
