The Real Reason Qantas Said NO To Boeing And Turned To Airbus!
In the context of fierce competition in the aviation industry, airlines are always looking for optimal solutions to improve operational efficiency and meet the increasing demands of customers. Qantas, a loyal customer of Boeing, with its decision to switch to Airbus, has demonstrated a bold and strategic move, marking a new chapter in the airline’s development history and contributing to changing the competitive landscape between the two giants Airbus and Boeing. So why did this airline say “no” to Boeing aircraft? Let’s find out in today’s episode!
Few Boeings in the fleet
The Real Reason Qantas Said NO To Boeing And Turned To Airbus!
Qantas, Australia’s national airline, has a history of over 100 years, making it one of the oldest and most experienced airlines in the world. The airline currently operates domestic and international flights to many destinations around the world, including Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania. As one of the pioneers in operating long-haul flights, with impressive transcontinental routes, Qantas has always been highly appreciated for its service quality, from luxurious business class cabins to modern amenities on board. Its modern fleet with many different types of aircraft, from wide-body to narrow-body aircraft, meets the diverse needs of customers. Looking at the airline’s fleet, Qantas currently has 125 aircraft operating on major domestic routes and international routes. As for smaller routes, connecting remote and less populated areas, there are currently 90 aircraft operated by QantasLink.
The Real Reason Qantas Said NO To Boeing And Turned To Airbus!
Qantas currently operates Boeing aircraft in its fleet, but it appears that the airline has decided that its future direction will be mainly Airbus aircraft. The only Boeing aircraft that Qantas plans to use in the long term is the Boeing 7 8 7 Dreamliner. The airline currently operates 14 Boeing 7 8 7 Dash 9 and has plans to order 4 more Dash 9 and 8 Dash 10 to increase its capacity to serve international and long-haul routes. The 7 8 7 Dreamliner is highly regarded for its fuel efficiency and comfortable experience.
Meanwhile, the Boeing 7 3 7 800 currently in Qantas’ fleet, along with 75 aircraft, has been included in the replacement plan. It is expected that from 20 25, the airline will begin to phase out this 737 fleet to switch to the Airbus A3 21 XLR – a modern, long-range and more fuel-efficient narrow-body aircraft, suitable for routes in the Asia-Pacific region. With this decision, Qantas’ future fleet will break the tradition of sticking with Boeing as it has in the past. For QantasLink, the domestic and regional airline of Qantas, there is currently only one Boeing, the Boeing 7 1 7. However, this is an old aircraft and the airline has decided to retire this one from October 20 24. After the Boeing 7 1 7 is removed, QantasLink will completely switch to operating Airbus narrow-body aircraft with the DHC Dash 8 fleet – famous for its stable and flexible operation in complex terrain conditions in regional areas.

That's it Australian Flag carrier/Australia's National Airline QANTAS ! Now QANTAS has been crowned as the profitable airlines during Emirates gets angry at BOEING until loss everything along year of this 2024 and even get taken over, overtaken and defeated/beated by QANTAS as the QANTAS said "NO" to BOEING and turned to AIRBUS for now one. Oh boy, I wish Indonesia can says "NO" to BOEING and turned to AIRBUS just like QANTAS choose AIRBUS over BOEING especially Indonesian flag carrier/Indonesia's National Airline Garuda Indonesia that will choose AIRBUS over BOEING too. This AIRBUS one of the safest plane in the world as I say to AIRBUS is "Clever Girl" as I said.

Brit here, it just goes to show that the Greed is Good attitude of the Boeing "management" was disastrous. With the on going problems with the 777x, which were also due to this "management" mishandling of everything that Boeing was good at. Add to that the decision to lay off its most experienced engineers and assemblers beggars belief. Plus, the US Government handling of the 737 MAX fiasco, where incompetent CEO's walk away with over $60million and no jail time, left many wondering just how safe Anything that was produced by Boeing was. It's a sad story for all those people who work at Boeing. With the new management and the strikes settled by a different CEO, maybe at long last Boeing will come back. Even Airbus CEO's have said, that it has problems without Boeing being there, as does the Aircraft industry as a whole. Lets hope for all our sakes Boeing gets back soon. We certainly don't want the Chinese there.
With Trump incharge, regulations will be reduced and Boeing can get back to making garbage
Its not Qantas but quaintarse according to Alf Garnett in the BBC series 'Till death us do part' from the 70's comedy.
Those responsible for the fall of Boeing were paid tens of millions when they left.
Instead, they should be sued for destroying the company.
Boeing is shit like USA.
QANTAS has an enviable safety record – and wants to keep it…. bye, bye Boeing
QANTAS is NOT Australia's national airline. We dont have a national airline. It's just a corporation owned by stockholders like most other airlines. QANTAS was ONCE our national airline, owned by the Government and therefore by the people of Australia but no longer. It's becoming more and more disliked by the Australian population as it fires staff, cancels flights, loses bags, generally has become a mediocre airline, where once it was one of the best in the world.
QANTAS is not Australia’s national airline. It hasn’t been for decades since it was privatised.
QANTAS has not said good bye to Boeing. The B787 is likely to remain in service for several years.
The other Airbus purchases are based on certainty of the aircraft and suitablity for QANTAS needs. The B777x has shown that there uncertainties in Boeing's offers.
The QANTAS shift began with the A320 purchase for Jetstar, so not a new thing.
Boeing has no competitors for the A220 or the A321XLR. The B777x has not achieved production, and therefore does not compete with the A350.
Replacement of the B737 with A321 will allow increases in passenger loads on major routes. Because the A321XLR could be looked on as an automatic selction the A321 allows for greater uniformity of operations and staff training.
It is now up to Boeing to lift its game.
