The Real Problem With Living on Mars

In this video, I’ll answer the following questions: how will a huge magnetic shield between Mars and the Sun save us? Why do settlers build ice houses? And most importantly: will the Martian colony survive?

  1. We will have to be like Ironman and Ironwoman
Kids will clamp on to the suit you will drive the suit like iron man
    And land
Like the space diving guy but a much better suit
If you really want to save fuel there can be ways to make landing pads like magnets for unfueled crafts

  2. Im 100% convinced we as humanity are capable of terraforming Mars but it will require each and every country around the globe to work together for centuries, wich I think will be our biggest roadblock of all, lol

  3. LOL. They have the grand 10-15 years away colonization plan as if all the intermediate research, testing, engineering, moon colony, etc. are already all worked out and in progress. There won't be any humans on Mars in at least 25 years. Not alive anyway.

  4. Bring Ceres to Mars .Ceres will become the new moon of Mars.
a moon will create a magnetic field.
a moon will create plate tectonics, plate tectonics will spur volcanoes to erupt.
Volcanoes erupting will create a greenhouse affect .
a greenhouse affect will pressurize the atmosphere and warm up the atmosphere
    causing clouds to accumulate .
Clouds will cause rain to fall.
Volcanoes will bring nitrogen to the surface.
then we will bring Arctic Lycen to Mars,
We then bring Pine trees to Mars and Arctic plants , like Buttercups , and Mushrooms and Blueberries .
    Then we bring Rabbits
    and Grouse and Goats
After they are well established we will bring Caribou , and Moose .
Then Humans ! and fish ! .maybe Bees .
    AM I STILL IN ?
    DAMN RIGHT I AM
HE HAS THE RIGHT IDEA .

  5. It’s my understanding the the Outer Space Treaty prohibits intentionally altering any off world location; which any base/colony would fundamentally require.
You’d need to repeal that international treaty first, or else blatantly violate it.

  6. Eventually they'll figure it out if we last long enough. However, the lead up to something like that will be long and costly. It will be difficult to convince people, who won't be alive long enough to see the results, to pay for it. It will have to be through private enterprise, which means, there has to be some profit to be gained. The opportunities are there, but from our perspective at the moment, it seems almost like a pipe dream.

  7. We have had colonies on Mars since the late 60’s. Colonization is undertaken as a preservation-of-species project, and executed as a US Unacknowledged Special Access Program. The Mars Colony Corporation was founded as an international corporate entity in 1971. 2010’s Martian Census measured ten million colonists.

  8. Right now nobody will survive the trip to Mars let alone setting up a colony.
We're still trying to figure out how human body can survive more than a year on a space station orbiting Earth and that's Under the Umbrella of earth's magnetic field.

  9. It's a amazing idea but how do we expect to colonize ours when the human race can bend work together in Unity to advance our own race you do know that the only being that move from planet to planet colonize another planet or the being that already figure out how to advance their own first there must be Unity within this race before we can ever think about colonizing another planet and we all know humanity is way behind on one learning how to fully control our natural resources whether it be the sun which is solar win water so like I said before it's a good idea but we must first get our planet together as one form of energy and then maybe we will be able to colonize another planet until then Good lucky hopefully we don't destroy the entire solar system in this attempt organize another planet when we cannot even control the planet what we are living on now
