  1. community radio is practically the only radio worth listening to. ive discovered more from listening to KNON than even the satellite radio stations. thats what happens when volunteers come together with their own music collections and everything is operated on pledges.

  2. Fin, thank you for FINALLY acknowledging Volbeat. The term coined for their music genre is "Elvis Metal". Use that in your videos to be witty. Their last record is certainly not their best release. They are much bigger in Europe than the states, but Muricans are missing out. For some real Volbeat bangers, check out "Die To Live", "For Evigt", and their best song "Seal The Deal".

  3. Finn, I don't understand why it's such a problem that older bands are still getting airplay. clearly, they're still enjoyed by people, both young and old. what's wrong with letting the free market decide what music is successful? and yeah, you need to come back to the midwest to get a fuller picture of how things are. the coastal cities with their indie-rock hipsters are not representative of the country as a whole. the only rock fans that listen to the radio are blue-collar douche-bros that like hearing 3DG and Shinedown while they re-pave the road around a manhole cover in a small town in southern Michigan. p.s. Papa Roach is "boomer territory"? lol. More like millenial territory. my boomer parents listen to Beatles and Mountain.

  4. I mean, its worth considering that radio is a push, not a pull format. The most played songs aren't played the most because of listener demand, its what record labels are trying to push at the time. Most Djs don't even get to hardly choose their own playlists anymore, playlists are made in board rooms.

  5. I would not say volbeat sounds like offspring. The vocals are more like FFDP in which Ivan seems to have copied Howard Jones clean vocals (KSE). And the riffing and tone sounds like metallica black album-esque; at least "Shotgun blues" and their newer stuff.

  6. Evidence of why I never use the term “rock” when describing my taste, because it conjure up images of THIS..c’mon white people! It’s embarrassing! Do better! It’s also a shame that it’s so old-guy centric, yet features none of the old-guys who are doing something interesting like Danny Elfman’s collaboration with The Locust a few months ago.

  7. Thank you for saving me the trouble of being disappointed. I don't watch the top 100 anything, so I follow you to get the cliff notes, & this just disappointing.

I mean trap metal is pretty dope, the most of the vibe from the golden days have died so I guess we got to make do with what we've got 🤷‍♂️

  8. Thank you. You are the first person that I have ever heard, that doesn't think the world about the stupid Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I don't think that they are untalented or anything like that, I just hate just about every song that they have ever made. Their music sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. I don't understand why so many people like them. They are about as generic as they come.

  9. i have a co worker who listens to shinedown, and he's exactly what you'd expect – prototypical butt rock fan who also listens to stuff like breaking benjamin and seether all day

  10. I don’t listen to radio really. I listen to a internet radio station The Mountain 2.0. They play everything that rocks. Yeah probably some stuff you don’t like but no real commercials 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
