The Pianist(2002) is an excellent film but there is a separate melancholy behind it The director of the film Roman Polanski has truly experienced the Holocaust During the war while his father was sent to a camp in Austria and managed to survive his mother unfortunately was sent to another camp and killed by the Nazis An interesting detail is that purely by chance during the filming of the movie he met a man who had helped his family during the war to escape the conflict.
