The Payton/Russ Combo Destined for Failure? ESPN Weighs In | Broncos For Breakfast

Nick Kendell and Scott Kennedy discuss ESPN’s “Get Up” and their recent discussion on if head coach #SeanPayton and quarterback #RussellWilson’s partnership will work out or if it is destined for failure. Was the #DenverBroncos performance versus the Arizona Cardinals encouraging or did it appear like the Wilson of last season? What can we look for to improve upon in the upcoming matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers?

  1. We need to see Javante truck Crosby week 1 for revenge. Its interesting Crosby took out Javantes knee right after Javante had delivered a devestating block in pass pro that knocked Denzel Perryman out with a concussion. I always wondered if it was intentional.

  2. I'm really sick and tired of all the downers concerning Russ. I have a hard time watching any of that stuff. I think those people should be in the same place as all those that ESPN canned.

  3. The Russ haters are stupid. He and Payton are doing a good job, and they seem to mesh well together. The only two people who can really judge how well Russ and Payton work together are Russ and Payton.

The bar for Russ is still where it should be, which is why he’s being criticized no matter how he does. People have great expectations of him.

This bs that Russ isn’t Russ anymore os garbage. All I see is an elite QB who doesn’t get the proper protection.

  4. I read the book, Blind Side. How sad, but not altogether surprising about how things apparently truly shook out. Give the book a read, when you get a chance, Scott. I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. The book focused much more on how Lawrence Taylor changed the game and singlehandedly created the need for a more athletic, but still big man at Left Tackle, giving rise to the big pay days Left Tackles now get (they all owe a debt to LT). Great read!
