The Painful Tale of Brickleberry, Paradise PD, and Farzar | Part One

Join me for a deep dive into the three animated comedies created by Roger Black and Waco O’Guin. It’s not just a story of three extremely bad shows… although all three shows are extremely bad.

This is part one of three. Watch part two here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md75krfN3RI
Part three is fully edited, and just needs redrafting before I can post it. It should hopefully come out at some point in the next few days.

Content Warning:
Part one shows clips of crude humour that include jokes that degrade people for characteristics such as appearance, race, gender, and sexuality. Brief clips are also shown of cartoon violence.

Spoiler Warning:
Part one contains minor spoilers for Archer season 3. Part two contains major spoilers for Paradise PD’s plot developments in seasons 1 – 2. Part three contains minor spoilers for Fresh Meat season 3. Farzar goes unspoiled throughout all three parts. Brickleberry resets the status quo after every episode so there are no major plot developments to spoil, however several individual episodes have their stories spoiled. That being said though if you care about Brickleberry, Paradise PD, or Farzar spoilers something’s gone wrong.

  1. I've only ever seen passing ads for the show so I figured it was just low-effort adult comedy using animation as a crutch. Seeing in the opening moments the black guy had his badge on a chain I was… concerned. But man, after this video I'm genuinely taken aback that this meanspirited, unfunny, and low-effort show was greenlit.

Wait, it's because it's low effort that it was greenlit, huh? Don't need to pay writers when the humour is that of a twelve-year old who just discovered prank videos.

Great analysis, gonna enjoy watching part two.

  2. "I will never apologize to a woman and if you don't like that, then I apologize!"

C'mon! Surely ending that with 'and if you don't like that, I am sorry' scans so, so, so much better?! It's a shit joke and they garbled it!

  3. A month ago, It was painful I was dragged to my boyfriend’s friend’s house and him and his girlfriend thought Brickleberry was the funniest shit. They kept cracking up at the stupid Obama is creepy obsessed with the fat chick joke and I wanted to die.

  4. When I was in middle school I liked Brickleberry bc it appealed to my smooth brain sense of humor and while watching this video where you played clips of the show I laughed at every one that you showed.

  5. Hell, even Family Guy's slowly stopped using Meg jokes – they're still there – but whenever she shows up she's treated as a little more of a character now than earlier on in the seasonal rot era where she was just a running punchline for "humor."

Not part of the Griffin family, mind you, but still more effort's being put in than what Brickleberry does with Connie.

  6. I watched Paradise PD, with some long breaks between episodes and 3 episodes of Farzar. The jokes ARE really lame, and it's low-hanging-fruit. EVERY so often. One lands. I think that's the strategy, it's a shot-gun approach. Make a hundred easy jokes and you will get SOMETHING, that tickles somebody for personal reasons.

  7. All "adult animations" are either

    Generic family guy clone

    Generic rick and morty clone

Or, rarely (in cases like star trek: lower decks)

Another series basing most of its spin off's humor round rick and morty and ripping off tbe artstyle

  8. Yucko the clown the day after Dale Earnhardts crash was one of the funniest things that 23-yr-old-alcoholic-me saw. He runs into a morning radio show, with a 6 foot cardboard display sign of the #3 making brbrbrbr car noises, and slams himself into several walls… They intro him and his first line is " I just flew in to __ and boy am I glad Dale Earnhardt died" (honk honk)

Man… I remember watching The Damn Show and pissing myself laughing at a lot of it. I'm glad I quit drinking.

  9. Everybody isn’t going to get the Humor. I personally love brickleberry and think it’s hilarious. Show is actually good for what they do as far as the way they have that laugh at your pain type of style

  10. People lie… that's the joke…
And many of the people "hating" these shows are doing the same… and they either often feel caught, or react with extreme denial.

Like many of the jokes of he said he'd never do it, and then did it anyway, well it's funny, because it's true!

Many people behave exactly like Brickleberry Characters on a daily basis, many online personas are exactly as one dimensional as them, and they make shit tons of money, simply by being one dimensional jokes and punching bags or cynical assholes.

This video itself, could have been created and voiced by Malloy.

  11. I can now see why Matt Stone and Trey Parker say they hate conservatives, but fucking hate liberals. the reason shows like brickleberry, South Park, family guy ARE funny is because "it's either all of it is funny or none of it is funny". they make fun of everyone and everything. sure they take shots and low blows, but it's against every religion, creed, group, whatever. instead of everyone being handle with kids gloves they treat everyone the same.

  12. not related to the video, but at some point it'd be really cool if you reviewed bojack horseman. you've most likely watched it, but if not, its honestly the best netflix show, and best adult comedy of ALL TIME, and lots of people agree with that statement despite season 1's first half being… underwhelming (still good for an adult comedy though).

  13. Honestly the only reason I ever knew that Brickleberry existed was when Tosh promoted it on Tosh.0. I never bothered looking into or watching the series beyond that, so I had no idea about this triple-show rabbit hole.
