  1. Was Expecting to be laughing at TTS. I watch Baldermort when I want a bed time story, his voice so smooth I could fall asleep listening everytime. Come to think of it I kinda did doze off during watching this.

  3. I love Baldermorts work. Though I do disagree with his assertion that it is humanity that is responsible for Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeentch. Given that The War in Heaven happened long before the birth of Humanity and it is indicated that The War in Heaven screwed up the Immaterium, I argue that Humanity was just one of many soul-bearing species that the warp predators fed upon. It wasn't until the collapse of humanity during the end of the Golden age of Technology that we became the go-to for the Chaos gods. I think of it like Humanity being the equivalent of fast food to the Eldar gourmet meal. Never mind the many other Xenos that were psychic, many of whom worshipped one or more Chaos gods. Though I do agree that the Eldar didn't fuel the older three. As Bladermort put it, the Eldar channel their power differently. Even before the birth of Slaanesh. Just my opinion though… In part because I hate the idea of human primacy. Far too many fantasy settings put humanity as the cause for every thing good and bad.

Side note: as others said, check out his take on Rogal Dorn. It is great bed time listening too. Not sure if I ever stayed awake through the whole thing.

  4. For fun, you go to Bricky.
For technical expertise, accuracy and pain staking care of nuance you go to luetin09,
For theories on the lore you go to 40k Theories
For Individual Characters & speculation of the future, you go to Wolf Lord Rho
For 40k Memes you go to Barry Walts
For Story telling, the best audio reading and the conveyance of the true essence of 40k, you go to Baldermort.

I love the 40k community, there is no other community like it and its absolutely full of gatekeeping gods that guard against the forces of retcon chaos. Praise be to them! cough and the erm..the emperor of course.

  5. Those shamans were neato. Made themselves a shiny spiffin emperor. We got a lot of psykers here in the 40th millenium. Why don't get a few of them and make another one? Not that there's anything wrong with our current emperor, no sir he's the best. But it couldn't hurt to have a spare emperor of mankind, know what I'm saying?

  6. Oh please, please do more of Baldemort's 40k videos. His combination of lore with storytelling is top notch. And that voice. Just sucks you into the story. May I suggest his video on the Sisters Repentia – from the Sisters of Battle faction, which is my personal favorite. Really great story tied into that video.

  7. There's another hypothesis on the Emperor aside from the two put forward in this video. Emperor is supposedly one of the so-called perpetuals, humans that can regenerate any injury and even be "reborn" after being killed. This was officially put into lore in book Saturnine of the Siege of Terra series, which may or may not had been available, when the original video was being made. This book was published in March 2020.
Perpetuals supposedly started appearing on Earth some time around 15,000 BCE, according to account of one of the oldest perpetuals, as can be read in the Saturnine book. If we go by Emperor's supposed memories in book Master of Mankind, he was born in what's today Middle East between 8,000 and 6,0000 BCE. We can arrive at this time frame from a scene in the book, where Emperor as a child is covering a skull of one of his relatives with clay to recreate their likeness. This was a form of ancestor worship, that was practiced in that region during that particular time frame.
This is the version I personally subscribe to, it seems more plausible than the shaman one, or the "weapon" from dark age of technology. Because why would you put that kind of knowledge into a weapon, no matter how sophisticated.
EDIT: Emperor being a perpetual was also corroborated in an interview with Dan Abnett 2(ish) years ago.

    Now for the controversial part.
Emperor is dead and had been since he was put into the "golden throne" after his duel with Horus. The thousand psykers sacrificed to keep Emperor alive are used to keep closed the "gate" between imperial palace and the webway infested by "daemons" (thanks, Magnus). This was already done, at least, once while Emperor was still alive, when he went into the webway to help deal with the warp incursion (Master of Mankind book).
Astronomican has nothing to do with Emperor, it's just an "exhaust" of the Hollow Mountain within the City of Sight. City of Sight is a part of the Imperial Palace where Astropaths live and work. Hollow Mountain is used for disposal of psykers that are too weak and/or unstable to be usable as astropaths, combat psykers or any other function suitable for their mutation (mainly The Outcast Dead book). I had yet to see explanation how the Astronomican would function in the early phases of the "great crusade", when Emperor was still roaming the galaxy on space ships looking for his primarchs, if Emperor was responsible for somehow controlling the Astronomican.

  9. I just did the math. Ten thousand people a day over ten thousand years is over 36 BILLION people. And those are just the ones given directly to the Emperor. That doesn't include Exterminatus cleansings, Crusades, the Astartes trials, which generally take ~ 1,000 lives for each new Space Marine they make, or just the attritious toll of endless battles. Each one of which can cost hundreds of thousands or millions of lives, even when the Imperium wins.

  10. The prisoners are chained next to each other. The floor under them is a slotted grate that they sht n piss in. The entire vessel is warded to suppress their power; even the chains they wear suppress there power. The women warriors also suppress their power. Until they get to Earth and are sacrificed to the Emperor.
