Egyptology is still one of my favourite books I own to this day
Congrats for 100k!!!
Oh… my…. GOD- THESE WERE MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE- DRAGONOLOGY WAS LITERALLY MY ENTIRE PERSONALITY. STILL ARGUABLY IS!!! ITS SO COOL THAT THE BOOKS ARE STILL GOING!!!
I had Mythology and it was probably the first thing I ever learned Greek mythology from. I wanted the Wizardology and Dragonology books as a kid, but I never got them.
I'd love to see where else they'd go with this series! MAYBE THEY'D MAKE AN OFFICIAL PIRATEOLOGY?
Just a fun little note on the mythology one: In spanish and some other languages i'm sure, Oro straight up means gold so it's very fitting he got the midas touch lol
Can't wait to see the fox voiced by Keith Ferguson in the crossover of Sofia The First and Elena of Avalor.
(yippee!)
I wish I had these books when I was younger. I would have never read them but I bet I would have loved looking at all the pictures and the little letters and stuff.
THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD AND I hAD VAMPIREOLOGY AND MYTHOLOGY
Lmao, I love this chick! Her dance over marsupial dragons made my day!
I grew up with the Practical Guide series which was basically a skimmed down version of the Ology books. I loved the vampire one a lot
I think it had to be one of the imitator books, not a pure Ology, but one of my absolute favorites was a magic book with a wooden wand in the end, and vials of sand and crystals you could pour into the handle to "enchant" it after unscrewing it! That wand was one of my favorite toy props as a child, but it cracked and started getting loose and I no longer have it.
10:48 No cap? More like BIG CAP
Hey i have a question why aren't you telling the lores about the suggestions i was mentioning
Fairyopolis did have a last page secret! It was a stereoscope.
Fun fact – Dragonology has a series of novels as well. I actually grew up reading the first novel and was later shown the fun ology books at scholly
HOW DID YOU KNOW? ( I read these when I was younger lol )
That's really weird because it should have an envelope with a a View-Master and essentially is a picture of fairies dancing in a court-like settings and the sequel actually has a full pop-up setting of a fairy Village at night and it even has a music trigger
dragonology came out the year i was born, based as hell
I love how much Athena seems to genuinely enjoy the media she makes videos on
I've been collecting these books since childhood, and I'm still not finished
I had nerdy friends in fifth grade who had dragonology. I thought it looked cool but I could never get into nerd stuff when I was a kid.
10:00 Kayla Sims is a Sims YouTuber, glitch in the Matrix
I had the pirateology ahaha
YOO I HAD THE PIRATE ONE THAT'S SUCH A WEIRD THING TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE DID
I had the egyptology book as a kid and I was OBSESSED with it so bad, it was so cool-
I'm 24 and I'm getting those books ASPA starting with Wizardology you bet I'm writing spells
The names follow the logic of the side characters in Jem. Danse the dancer. Video. Techrat.
I am SO upset that these weren't a thing in sweden, my autistic ass wouldve been obsesseddddd with like all of them and i now highkey want them all
Dragonology was my shit!
Okay but about the last names being too on the nose, there is a Sims 4 youtuber who was born with the last name Sims, and that has completely wiped all my disbelief about names being a little too perfect
There was one called the time traveler's journal that was my absolute fave. It came with a pocket watch where the numbers were reversed.
This probably has been my favorite video ever, I loved the personal narratives interspersed and the spells at the end had me laughin so hard lmao
OMG I forgot about these wat
I literally FOUGHT kids for these books in 3rd grade
I have Fairyopolis and I think the thing at the end of your book was taken off but they have some cardboard thing and a pair of weird glasses that would make a picture w/ a bunch of fairys in it 3d or something [I can't figure it out]
I saw that dragonology book at the library once and really wanted to get it but my siblings didn't let me
Too expensive I guess. I still want that book… it had dragon scales and stuff in it. It was awesome.. you know what I'm stopping the video, I'm gonna get a dragonology book and I ain't gonna have no spoilers!!
I remember these! I loved them! This seems like a much more complex version of the “authors” writing in the margins of the D&D books.
Dragonology, Egyptology, and A Practical Guide to Monsters were my main three books that I had in this style growing up, and I haven't been able to find my old copies anywhere, so I might end up getting them from amazon to relive that nostalgia.
I was that Egyptology and Greek mythology nerdy kid. So these books were like coveted tomes for my nero-divergent brain.
I had piratology as a kid, it was pretty sick. It has a compass embedded in the cover instead of a gem.
I was googling around and found another book like these! It’s called A Princess Primer : a Fairy Godmother’s Guide to Being a Princess. Has anyone read this one?
YO THAT SHIT WAS BANGARS!!!!! you didnt have to go that hard. But you did…. you did that for us.
can you try doing jo jo circus for the next lore video?
Maybe you should put the marsupial dragon skin- er, the fairy wing- oh, no no, the scrap of spellcasting parchment for attracting mermaids. Yeah, that's the one
Athrena pls do NATURE CAT LORE
There was a pretty similar Nancy Drew – ology book that came with notes from Nancy, postcards, clues for mysteries etc and I ate that UP
Wasn’t there a Dragonology DS game? I swear I remember playing it
Where did you get that giant stuffed cat?
