Maybe it’s Robert Saleh being too defensive minded and not being able to adjust as an “in game” head coach.
But I think it’s the injuries. No team endures the sheer amount of injuries the Jets do.

Our defense would have had to play beyond like Baltimore 2000 level for us to compete. Perhaps you can get on JD for not going out and overpaying for a #2 WR or a guy like Cousins(it’s clear to me a guy like Dobbs wouldn’t have changed our fate), but he clearly didn’t want to sacrifice assets for a long shot season and I can’t say I blame him.
We gambled on Rodgers. It didn’t work out. JD has his work cut out for him this offseason though. There is no excuse to not walk out of this offseason with at least a quality #2 WR and a bookend OT, as well as your QB of the future.

Zach got a raw deal from day one here. And he just straight up isn't good enough to lift up the entire offense that itself is struggling outside of the QB position.

It takes several years to build a quality offensive line. Right now the Jets have Tippman. AVT has proven he is injury prone. This year's mess has set the franchise back 10 years. That's right. They are cash strapped. They have no 2nd round pick. They need a qb of the future AGAIN. Their run defense is very suspect. They have no backup qb. Once Rodgers leaves, they will clean house. So a new coach is coming. Douglas may be gone as well. The talented guys on this team will not stick around for this mess when they are free agents.
How many hail mary's have the Jet's thrown this year? More than I can ever remember. My thought since the first one was why not dress practice squad TE Zach Kuntz just for these reasons. His 40 time was nuts in the combine and he's like 6'7. Who cares if he can't block. Instead they have Tyler Conklin on these Hail Mary's. He's slow. The issue wasn't Zack. It is what he had to work with. They had right intent at the start, but QB Guru died before he got started. No plan afterwards. 1) Bad Oline. 2) no run games. 3) effects pass game. 4) inept receivers that dog it, run wrong routes, can't get open, and drop catches. 5) lack of offensive coaching, play calling. Rogers, Brady, Breese. They would fare no better, getting sacked in 2 seconds. They would be on IR by now anyway. And another thing. Going to an aged QB at tail end of career, in most cases, doesn't work. Rogers showed that this year.
