  1. LaFleur has not improved during the 2 years he has been OC. Can't blame ZW only – LaFleur is responsible for his development – So it Calabrese – pulling the plug on MLF and Calabrese ( both of whom were unqualified to begin with ) is the logical thing to do

  2. Sally gets another year I think even though Woody was livid after Seattle game.
I think they keep Sally because there are already 5 HC vacancies to date. So he is on double secret probation I assume coming season.
Major problem is Jets orginization dug themselves a hole by trading and not keeping Sam Darnold and gradually developing him and surrounding him with talent.
BTW Jets will draft a THIRD USC QB if available in Caleb Williams Heisman winner next year.

  3. I'm not down with changing any of the staff right now. The reality is our #1 starters make us a playoff team. We're a QB away from being in the game, along with needed depth on the OL. Now, if things go sideways next fall, it'll be time to start chopping the staff. I've got 52 years invested in this team and I can be patient for one more off-season.

  4. People are quick to say that JD only hit on GW, Avt, Breece, and Sauce. GMs arent going to hit on every pick. The fact that draft picks and UDFA players are actually playing is basically hitting on picks and signings. Look at the roster.

  5. Ever consider that the Jets are sort of the designated laughingstock NY team ?
Think about it,, there's 8 or 10 teams that take turns winning the SB and the Giants are
the 'designated' SB franchise in NY.
I know, Jets won that SB before most of us were born lol, and I believe that it was rigged in order to gain credibility for the former AFL.
Also, because they play in the same stadium with the 'Storied/Legendary/Winning' Giants,,
you have to wonder if Jet players think " Yeah I guess we're sort of the Junior Varsity in this Town"

  6. It's a damn shame Gastineau is suffering from Alzheimers, Dementia, and Parkinson's; as a Healthcare worker that makes him terrifying as a patient (that dude son downs and thinks you're a QB, normal demented elderly have got some crazy strength man, Mark would probably lay me out.).

It's a shame I wasn't old enough to appreciate him back in the 1980s, too busy with cartoons and action figures back then.

  7. Significant improvement? The collapse was pure Adam Gase all over again. Eric Mangini all over again. You yourself have acknowledged the improvement in talent. History tells us the collapse was from coaching. I appreciate your desire to be relative, to keep the historical perspective in play. But that should also apply to the Jets in relation to other teams. The Detroit staff is looking better. So are the Jaguars, the lowly Jaguars. Okay, Detroit has a QB and Jacksonville has a Super Bowl winning HC. But then look at the Giants, who've blown Saleh out of the water. The team quit. The past instability was due to one dimensional (defensive) coaches who knew nothing about the opposite side of the ball (Edwards, Ryan, Bowles). Tell me that Saleh hasn't fallen into the same mold. He should be punished for delegating his offense to a rookie as insecure as he is. He must be forced to hire a veteran coordinator, who's much more of a weapon than Jimmy (Disabled List) Garrapolo or some other pretender who never won where they were. Aaron Rodgers would be Brett Favre all over again. When I get depressed, I think about Dallas and their forty million a year lemon.

  8. Bean~ when it comes to Gastineau, it is worth mentioning that he did all of this during an era when the game was still a heavy mix of run and pass…different game the last 20 years with the passing attempts being higher (meaning more chances to rush the passer).

  9. I REMEMBER MARK GASTINEAU HAVEING A FANTASTIC GAME EARLY IN THE 1988 SEASON AGAINST THE CLEVELAND BROWNS. BUT HE RETIRED SOON AFTER THAT GAME. I THINK THAT HE COULD HAVE MADE THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME HAD HE CONTINUED PLAYING. AS FOR THE CURRENT NEW YORK JETS, THEY ARE LOADED WITH PLENTY OF N.F.L. CHAMPIONSHIP TALENT !!!! THEIR BIGGEST OBSTACLE ARE THE HORRIBLE MULTIPLE INJURIES TO THEIR OFFENSIVE LINE. AS A RESULT, THEIR QUARTERBACK ZACH WILSON HAS TAKEN ALOT OF HEAT FROM THE MEDIA AND EVEN MORE HEAT FROM MANY JETS FANS !!!! BUT THERE IS NO QUARTERBACK THAT EXISTS IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE OR IN THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME THAT COULD HAVE ANY CONSISTENT SUCCESS WITH THE JETS OFFENSE, DUE TO ALL OF THE INJURIES TO THE JETS OFFENSIVE LINEMEN !!!! HOWEVER IF MECKHI BECTON AND ELIJAH VERA TUCKER FULLY RECOVER FROM THEIR INJURIES IN TIME FOR NEXT SEASON, AND THE JETS DRAFT TWO POWERFUL EXCELLENT BLUE CHIP OFFENSIVE LINEMEN WITH THEIR FIRST TWO 2023 COLLEGE FOOTBALL N.F.L. DRAFT PICKS THE RESULTS WILL BE FANTASTIC !!!! ZACH WILSON WILL BECOME AN AWESOME DEADLY PRO BOWL SEASON QUARTERBACK, AND THE JETS WILL LEAD THE ENTIRE N.F.L. IN RUSHING, WITH TWO OF THEIR RUNNING BACKS EACH GAINING OVER 1,000 YARDS FOR THE SEASON …….AND PERHAPS THE 2023 NEW YORK FOOTBALL JETS WILL WIN A VERY IMPORTANT FOOTBALL GAME IN FEBRUARY OF 2024 !!!! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS !!!!

  10. Biggest mistake the jets could make is handing the starting job back to Zach again because that's what Woody wants. Firing Lafleur opens up the door for gaslighting propaganda to brainwash the fan base that Zach sux because of Lafleur. If this happens and Woody wants to hand the starting job to Zach again, Douglas and Saleh should threaten to quit.
