  1. Had to start adding bundle in my decks solely for all these kinds of decks. Fixes this matchup if you have little gust cause it resets noivern, and having to play with unusual attackers, and even a cologne

  5. Really interesting way to build this deck, as a big wall deck fan I’m not sure I agree with it but I was at least super interested to watch it play out.

For me the biggest issue with this list is quad thorns. I get you have to play 4 for a good chance of starting it, but I would argue that when the rest of the deck is built around this attacking walls strategy, even starting thorns isn’t really worth having a two prize liability who does nothing for the rest of the game on the board. Your walls are already low cost/free to set up so slowing your opponent’s start isn’t really worth much when they can’t hit the ogerpon/mimikyu in the active anyway. You could argue that thorns is the only recourse against gardevoir and lugia, and while I would point you to hyper blower for the latter, I can see a world where thorns gets a spot if you are really scared of gardevoir, but even then I would think a smaller count and a penny/turo strategy would be better than 4x and you still lose the moment they drop flutter mane. There’s also the argument of Noivern over Farigiraf (I think Noivern should get a sport because it does things your other walls don’t) that other commenters have already gone in to, the question of a dusknoir answer (probably unnecessary but also not too hard to slip in Gastrodon or Enamourus), and even the debate as to the inclusion of Milotic at all ( I think it should both bc it’s new and fun and also it provides backup to Mimikyu), but those are much more personal preference than they are big foundational deckbuilding preferences.

There is an interesting argument made here, though, that quad thorns could benefit from 1 copy of mimikyu, ogerpon, and penny to try and fix the problems that deck has been having in the recent formats. If you played a lot heavier in to disruption trainers like judge and hammer as that deck usually does, there are a non-zero number of decks in the format who you currently couldn’t beat that couldn’t hit one of the walls. You lose the occasional guaranteed lock, but it’s an interesting option. Gave me an idea to cook with for a bit, at least, so thanks for that!
