The Need for Fathers | Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (Fr. Mike's Homily) #sundayhomily

Competent generosity is the key for healthy masculinity.

Jesus prays that His Church is never without shepherds. This world and His Church is in need of leaders, of shepherds, and of fathers. While we will always need women and mothers, we stand in particular need of fathers at this moment in history. We need both: strong and generous men and women to place their strength at the service of the people around them.

  1. Happy Fathers Day Father Mike. You are a great father figure for me for the past 3 years. I’m praying for you ♥️ I’m crying because my dad used to bless me every day, I didn’t even know how important that was, and how blessed and privileged I was to have that. He led by faith and was the definition of a holy, strong, sensitive, protective, loving father.
I’m also praying to St. Joseph for a future spouse that will be a great father. We need strong men/fathers!

  2. my recovery is all the more interesting because I actually never had real psychological or medical care, they told me to my face that I could just die, they would not care, Russian girl in Czech, let's not forget. I never even had psychotherapy for my PTSD because psychologists don't want to hear about any sexual abuse by Czech students, they just ghost me every time (including Catholic psychotherapists I must say) . In the last case of panic disorder I get meds, but not therapy and I had to end my medication without supervising 🙂

  3. I appreciate your clarity about the slacker and the brute. I find that both are selfish in getting whatever they want. One through force and the other through not taking any responsibility, even for themselves, this force everyone around them to have to take care of them. It seems as much a bully position as the brute except more insidious. I wish they could see that they're equally as harmful instead resting in a belief that they're doing no harm.

I want everyone to hear how you make this generously understandable

  4. Let it be known to all: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit!

Hear me when I say, ye that are Catholic have been deceived and know not God. Ye worship Mary, praying to her; when God tells his to worship none other than him. It is idolatry.

Catholicism has its own Bible and teachings, which are blasphemous to the word of God: the Holy Bible. As ye follow the teachings of man and not God; ye hear the pope, but not Jesus, yet ye claim to be his disciples!

These are but a few things I named ye dwell within; there are many more. I tell you now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father!

There are NO sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you!

They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God…
Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask:

"Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen."

    Revelation 22:8-9 KJV

8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

    Acts 2:38 KJV

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    Luke 11:13 KJV

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

    John 14:21-24 KJV

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

    3 John 1:11 KJV

11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

    1 John 3:6-10 KJV

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

  5. Wow father Mike that is the best Father’s Day sermon I’ve ever heard. Competent generosity is what we seek and our men. You nailed it! Thank you for your brilliant message. I love you father Mike and I will continue to pray for you. I had a meek and disciplined dad. He published editorials that described about the weaker sex. He was indeed a humble man by saying he was the weak and meek one in his marriage.

  6. My brother and sister-in-law had briefly separated. One evening, he was picking up their son to bring him to the babysitter. The little one started sobbing, "Daddy, I don't wanna go to the babysitter". My brother, not long out of his teens, told him that he wouldn't need to go to the babysitter anymore. So, he quit his partying and stayed home with his son. I have always remembered that because I saw my brother turn into a man that night.

  7. Today Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, trafficking women and forming an organisation to exploit women. I hope no one follows his lead which is clearly toxic and evil, and criminal. I am happy you promoted the gentle and caring among men following Jesus. Thank you Fr Mike!

  8. I chose Jesus as a positive role model in my life because no other male figures wanted to step up and teach me right from wrong. I used to hate my biological father for abusing me but all I now feel is pity. Please pray for his soul and guidance back to God.

  10. Interesting, but for me rather sad, as my father died less than a year ago [late July 2022], which was only a little over a year after Mum died. Mum died just before my 63rd birthday and Dad died just after my 64th.

  11. I remember as a child going to my wonderful father to receive his blessing before I went to bed. He would lay one hand on my head and make the sign of the cross with his other hand while he said a short little prayer in Spanish. Your homily reminded me of that. Gosh how I miss my father 😢

  12. Mostly good but a couple things 1) Father…when you give a homily about Fathers, there is no need to flatter the women and do it multiple times. 2) Pornography is a symptom of disordered manhood and not the cause. The causes stem from many things, but two of the largest ones are contraception and feminism. Both of these things interfere with manhood/fatherhood according to the natural law and are demonic.

  13. That was so beautiful. My children lost their father at a very young age, and I tried my best to raise them to love their Holy Father and do the next right thing. I did tell them to do better than I did, and that they couldn't just have certain behaviors because I may have done some terrible things before I became a better person. They couldn't say…."well, you did it , so I can do it". I said nope . You have your own page in God's book. I'm responsible for my actions and your responsible for yours. 24 years later and God not bringing them a father figure, I pray that I have raised 3 beautiful people. I believe God is still with us like he was through their fathers illness. Your homily is wonderful. Thank you. 🙋‍♀️🙏

  14. I have listened to many, many, MANY homilies. This is the most beautiful, heartfelt, inspiring homily I have ever heard. I listened to this Homily on the Hallow app on Father’s Day….but seeing Father Mike on video was amazing. Thank you…I’ve shared this video with my son-in-law, my grandson, and my daughter. God bless you Father Mike🙏🏼
