A WWII video blocked in Russia? The Russians — under one of the most repressive regimes in history — were our "honored allies" in WWII. They bore the brunt of German aggression and fought heroically to stem the flood. Now, the world's most corrupt regime in history has shut down communications with the Russian people because their government has the nerve to want a free Russian that is not under their dominion. Sickening!
These WW2 ERA songs are a TREASURE! I'm 95, but this great collection brings it all back like yesterday! It was a time that one had to actually experience – a time like no other: Rationing, Blackouts (a part of air raid drills and Civil defence); War Bonds, Troop Trains…The songs and those who wrore and performed then did a lot for morale in some pretty dark days. It was great to hear Vera Lynn, whose voice meant so much to our British allies – and quite fittingly to young Queen-to-be, the late Elizabeth 2nd. As one of the few WW2 GIs remaining, thamks for putting rhis all together!
DarkLight 2.1 thank you for putting this compilation together, it is excellent. I played it in the background while working today and taking a brief break. Superior mix and combination of hits, keep 'em coming!
My mother is celebrating her 100th birthday in November. This was the Era for her and my Dad. They got married after my Dad finished flight training and my Mom snuck on a troop train with the help of the other airmen on the train to spend a few days with him before he flew out to Ridgewell UK and piloting B-17 missions over Germany. Shot down over Schweinfurt in 1943. P.O.W. until liberation. They had 10 kids, the first was born while he was a P.O.W. Wonder how that happened? Lol Miss you Dad.
THANK YOU, my dad was a Company Commander in the 28th Infantry Division, US Army in WW2 9 months of combat in France, Belgium, & Germany with victory in Europe they were scheduled to be shipped to Japan for the Invasion, but the two Atomic bombs were dropped
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE VIDEOS! Thanks so much for posting. Enjoying them playing over and over. Today's music is trash. No talent, all computerized, can't sing and only know three instruments. drums, guitars, keyboards.
Great era. I was a baby that wasn’t born yet not until 1952. I feel like I should have been born back then. Or maybe I did but as who? Casablanca song. As time goes by. Music makes me sentimental. My moms and her sisters era. Jitter bug swing. Cake walk all dances. Such a lovely time
Music in those days was about people falling in love and wanting to do everything they could for each other. Films as well were in this gendre. Good triumphed over evil. This brought about strong families, low crime rates, and a community who cared about one another. Politicians who actually did something for people. Music today is about such things as drugs, violence, or having an imprompt spur of the moment affair. The films make heroes out of characters who belong in prison. TV programs make fools out of men. This brought about a rash of single mothers, foster children, uncontrollable crime rates, rising homelessness. Politicians whose main interest is their net worth.
I love reading all the comments below, of people who had family in the War, or knew of it from experience, however it was, they are all very interesting and some are quite touching!

It was a Golden Age of Music – music went down the drain ever since.
Incredible coral changes and a happy rhythm. Soft caressing melody. Nothimg like the melodious past! I love it!!
My mom at her 87s enjoyed this playlist very much! Hehehe 😜
My parents were immersed in this music, one a USA lieutenant nurse, the other an enlisted man in the CIC .
I love these tunes,
Memories though I
Was a child, really remember these
Beautiful songs,
Those were special
Times
Reminds me of my "Your Hit Parade" CD set from TimeLife. Each CD has hits from a particular year.

Fabulous escape from the current world
