The murder of Grant Whitaker [True Crime Documentary]

25 year-old Grant Whitaker was an altruist. He sought to give back to his community, and create a lasting, positive impact. Grant wanted to leave the world better than he had found it.

In the Summer of 2019, Grant went missing.

Slowly, evidence of what had happened to the young man was uncovered. It sent chills through the deaf community.

An abandoned campsite, a bloody car and most unsettling – his YouTuber friend, business partner and travelling companion was also, no where to be found.

  1. Just watching maverick’s body language whilst talking about “living” was enough for me to see something is wrong with this guy. I would not have him in my circle of friends. Creepy!

  2. Grant was trying to make a real difference and maverick was out for himself. He should have got way way longer in prison. Wouldn't the police have searched the area for evidence/the weapon rock?? Mavericks smiling and odd reaction to the rock finding is disturbing.

  3. I already knew he was guilty af when the jury acquited him of murder, because they felt sorry for him because he pretends he is deaf. Yes, I am pretty sure he pretends. Jurors (people) are so easily to be manipulated, especially when it comes to the handicapped. Self defence… 2 boys in a tent, 1 is dead, but it was selfdefence… Pretending his friend who is dead was a monster … If you look how he reenacts the scene in the courtroom one can NEVER EVER come to the conclusion it was selfdefence, but with certain handicaps it of course is selfdefence according to the masses. So now hopefully for once and for all we don't say "the jury said it, thus it's true" because that annoys the shit out of me. 1 year and a little for the life of Grant.. And a murderous psychopath walks the streets…

  4. You know we need to give psychological evals for jurors. Who TF in their right mind listening to this would believe this was not intentional homicide SMH which goes to question the people you select as jury of your peers!

  6. The internet is certainly spawning some pretty dangerous attention seekers who are so full of themselves that they will stop at nothing to get their way. Case in point, Maverick is continually and openly smirking in court as if he finds amusement that he killed someone, and is again the center of attention as he sees himself online. Most disturbing of all was the image of Maverick with his glowing muppet smirk surrounded by other inmates where he was being held.

  7. I’m getting so tired of hearing cases like this where somebody who is so obviously guilty gets away on some minor technicality or hyperfocus on some interpretation of law. When he made his confession, there should’ve been someway to bring him back to trial. I know he couldn’t be tried again for murder, but voluntary manslaughter. Seems the least he could’ve been retried for. I agree with some of the other commenters who say that there’s a dangerous society that seems evident from him.
