  1. I got no problem about the movie/show but I got a huge problem with how they portray them as some form of a renowned hero when they did not even went in the frontlines only to be turned into a sloppy joe or get gassed to death by cyanide. It would’ve been great as to say they did their job but to praise them as heroes I feel bad to the other diverse people who did actually died in the frontlines rather than touch a paper and be branded as heroes. Why not add the female medics in Pearl harbor as heroes just like the movie Pearl Harbor? Now those women are heroes for saving the lives of dying men and civilians even at the cost of their own safety due to the bombardment carried out by the Japanese zeros and bomber planes?

  2. they had an important job for the sole fact it keeps the fighting spirit of the men up, everyone that served in ww2 is a hero and saying that "they just deliver mail." doesnt take that away. alot of important info goes through those letters, the problem isnt the story its the depiction. i have no problem with the story, it's the delivery and forced message of said story. (even though this was a real story and they did have to deal with racism and discrimination.)

  3. the concept actually sounds interesting, an angle for a ww2 movie that hasnt been done before isnt something you come across often. then they went directly down the crazy hole……

  4. He's spot on that there's absolutely nothing wrong with the concept of this movie and the fact it's a true story etc is fine.

It's actually sad to me that movies like this get lambasted nowadays, but it certainly isn't surprising. Movies like Remember the Titans etc were great when we were growing up. Now the insane over-saturation of FAKE BS/historic re-imagining movies are full of such obscene pandering that ACTUAL true stories suffer as a result.

  5. I'd love to see a "Tokyo Rose"' story told in a movie or show, i.e. Toguri D'Aquino. Wendigoon has a great video on her. She was a Japanese-American who was a US citizen who got stuck in Japan at the time the war started. She ended up doing broadcasts, with the Japanese wanting her to broadcast Axis propaganda, but since the officials over her didn't speak English, she was broadcasting whatever she wanted to say and doing what she could to boost the morale of Allied troops. Then when she finally came back to the States she was (wrongfully) accused of treason, and it took years and years to finally uncover the truth of the situation.

  6. I agree with it. AI sorted all the post during WWII and Japanese robots which were sold in the US by German company. HAHAHHAHAHAH. Ofcourse its real. Black or not black mail was sorted , readed , censored ,…… by hands of a humans. Yes the movie is boring as shit but still. For the new generations only : There was no internet, no computers. smart phones , no emails. I know its hard to belive that but its true.

  7. The marketing is definitely the issue. On paper exploring how mail was delivered in ww2 could be interesting but the trailer makes it seem glorious and more important then it really would be and feels disingenuous to historical accuracy
