I love the thumbnail background
Tissine always knocks it out of the park, but this one may be her best so far, or at least it might be my favorite so far. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm wondering what kinda bounty they're gonna give Bonney after this arc. Can't be any less than 2 billion berries.
She basically can control all of the Pacifistas (besides the non-Kuma Seraphim perhaps?) and can transform into the Sun God like Luffy (even if it doesn't last for long.)
commenting before i watch the video. but in the first 20 seconds i knew merphy was lying and she will be shouting in a few minutes lol
I don't think Bonney is going gear 5th, she's going Nika. She doesn't have the haki, the battle-sense, raw power, experience anything. She isn't "as strong as Luffy", but instead "as free as Luffy" and I don't think thats a bad thing at all. Yes Luffy struggled to achieve his awakening, but while his awakening into the Nika form was through brute-forcing freedom to come to him, Bonney's Nika form is due to a different (but equally as difficult) struggle.
I'm still miffed about Shaka dying.
Short version I love the Bonney stuff, explanation below:
(Even though I spoiled myself since I am only watching the anime 😅)
I like Bonney and I personally wouldn't mind if Luffy managed to set her free and she could be an alternate universe version of herself in which she was Nika. Is it kinda an "Deus Ex Machina" moment for our universe but based on my understanding of Bonney's fruit abilities the distorted future feels more like bridging the gaps to parallel universe versions of people/herself so to me that would ALSO imply that her alternate universe version also experienced the same hardships and development Luffy did.
AND it implies to me that it is only limited to her and not the whole crew since none of the crew have powers that could tap into alternate realities!
I luv you ma'am hope someday I can have a dinner or drinks with you!!
Luffy worked HARD to achieve his Nika form.
He also wouldn't begrudge sharing that form with anybody else who has the right attitude for it. That's what Bonney's life has been. A path to this attitude of embracing freedom.
Freedom isn't something you have to steal from other people and hoard away. That's Blackbeard thinking. That's Celestial Dragon thinking. Luffy is happy to do his own thing, and if somebody else has the same potential as him, or possibly even more? He's still happy in his own life. They'll fight each other if their goals clash, but Luffy has no inherent need to tear anybody else down, just because they might outshine him.
The picutes from your designer always get me, but this one…I can't even ;(((((
this has to be tissine’s best piece yet, the description made me cry so many happy tears. my heart aches for kuma ❤
I need to know why the Gorosei made a artificial devil fruit of the sun god if the gorosei all have devil fruits? They wouldnt make a weapon that risky if they couldnt use it. I think there has to be someone in the world government who is incredibly capable that maybe we havent seen who they tried to make a devil fruit for.
Imagine:
The sea devil, which created the devil fruits, are actually….the snails.
Their breeding grounds are on Laugh Tale, which is why its funny to Roger because no one in the world knows where they came from, they just kinda appeared.
Theory 2:
Someone long ago ate the snail snail fruit, awakened, and not only did it breed, its powers are affected by the sea.
I really like bonnie turning gear 5. I think that it's a fantastic showcase of Luffy's character, how he supports the people around him and how he views his freedom as something everybody ought to have. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a catch, like Bonnie having much harsher side effects since she doesn't have Luffy's rubber-like body, but one of the things I liked about the arc so far are the many group battles (ex. Luffy with the giants, Luffy Zoro and CP9) scattered about, so if we get a Luffy Bonnie gear 5 beatdown by the end of this arc I would be more than happy.
To be honest I assume that she can only use the Nika form well because she understands what Nika is and knows it's importance so that's why she can use it. If she wers to try to do this with other devil fruit like abilities or awakenings then it would come off as a significantly weaker or sloppy version of them since she didn't understand the meaning of those devil fruits compared to Nika.
I thought the development makes sense and I don't even mind it in terms of enjoyability. As for powerscaling I couldn't care less.
But while the theme and setup is there I think it's the delivery of the scene that could have been done better, and it's probably part of a wider issue of Oda trying to cram too many panels without letting scenes breathe more (cause it would make the story longer).
Man marked by flames may be Jones D. Avery. Just saying
well i dont think bonney can become as strong as luffy tho
The snails should "work" fine in water I think – FMI they used them as well after all
I like the idea that Luffy's fruit is bending the rules to allow Ginny to do this. Luffy believes she can use the form too, so naturally it manifests as Ginny using her fruit, but what if it's both their fruits together allowing for her dream to come true. I don't think she'll be able to use this form without luffy being there too. And what if that's the true power of Nika, the power to make dreams reality. It would fit so thematically with the crew. Luffy helping those who are actively working toward or struggling to achieve their dreams, he helps push them along, and the fruit helps make it a reality. But they need to put in the effort too. So fo Ginny's case, we've seen her fight, and Kuma's fight, for freedom. Ginny using her fruit was enough effort for the Nika fruit to push this big transformation. I think the world government is scared of the fruit that grants the dreams of the struggling.
So with Bonney going Nika-ish, I think she's not going to be all that powerful at all, and that's kind of the point, right? Like she doesn't suddenly have access to conqueror's haki and future sight and all that, she just knows this is the right form and rhythm to be free of limitations. She's honestly probably going to be more of a slap-stick silly not-knowing-what-she's-doing-or-how-she's-doing-it getting in the way. She's a 12 year old girl that now has access to do whatever she can think of, she's not some mastermind battle-god. It's more symbolic than anything and honestly the anime is going to go so hard on that scene I can't wait lol
My theory is that Bonnie only can use the powers of Nika if Luffy is himself on that form, because it is affecting her with his awakening, so in my opinion this is going to be the limitation
I may have commented this already, but I think Nami is doing most of the managing of the Straw Hats.
She coordinates her group, like sending Jinbe to fetch Zoro. And Sanji and her have both been asking the other how their group is doing whenever they contact each other.
I'm on the same page as you regarding Bonney's power and I'm pretty sure that it will end up having limitations and she won't be able to fully copy Luffy's abilities (hopefully).
The thing that I think people who don't like that Bonney can go into Gear 5 need to remember is what she said after she turned into a giant. Franky was shocked and she said, "I can't hold distorted future for long." She literally can do one or two things max each time. Every time she's done it, it was a single move, and this will be her most taxing version of it.
I feel throughout the story Luffy is the liberator not only because he physically beats the oppressors, but also because he ignites the fire in people to free themselves.
What we saw mentioned in wano is the ability of the country to defend itself without Luffy.
And now we have Blackbeard possibly going after the ancient weapon islands.
So I think the story is setting up Luffy to not be the main liberator but the one who brings people to liberate themselves. So I think Bonney achieving true freedom might be the start of that.
It’s just a theory but it makes sense to me.
Merphy, I disagree with the thought that Bonney becoming joy boy is bad because it shows that luffy is not a chosen one but just fits the position and that anyone could be joyboy if they were given the chance
Snails can live underwater… so the submerged or not the snail should be okay as long as it hasn’t fainted
Damn, Tissine…
just…
damn…
😭
The transformation to Tekqueen101 is finally complete 😊
Luffy literally means Lucifer abbreviated. Monekey menaing hanuman. Luffy carries the will of Lucifer and Hanuman, or could even be their reincarnations. He names techniques based on Hanuman and Lucifer.
The Snails are… well, literally snails, the ocean is saltwater and salt kills snails (though being inside the Iron Giant might be preventing/protecting the snail from coming into contact with the saltwater immediately).
On a side note, I feel like it's all but confirmed at this point that Bonney is gonna join the Straw Hats as the apprentice of the crew. Luffy is quite directly taking on the Mentorship role towards Bonney and considering that she's been looking for Luffy/Nika and how much Nika ties into Bonney and Kuma's characters and backstories I think she's the perfect fit for the Final Straw Hat (assuming you don't consider Yamato/Vivi joining later on as being the Final crewmates, which I don't as they're practically honorary Straw Hats already)
