Hello and welcome to the World of Micah! I travel around filming everything and anything I find interesting –from theme parks to abandoned urban exploring. If you enjoy learning more about Disney history, tips & secrets or a fan of Walt Disney World nostalgia you have come to the right place. I also enjoy showing Universal Studios history and taking a look of what’s left of from classic attractions like JAWS and ‪Back to the Future‬. More of an Urban Exploring fan? I travel around Central Florida and film everything from abandoned Toys “R” Us stores to abandoned attractions. I’m also a major Movie Buff! I have found the filming locations from such films as Edward Scissorhands, Halloween (1978) & Hocus Pocus!

  3. That construction floor was freaky! I was waiting for David S. Pumpkins to pop out. I heard about the Michael Jackson suite on the RetroWDW podcast, and I always wondered if it still exists. There should totally be a WoM fan party in that suite. Captain EO themed.

  4. Crazy history…. I, too, wonder why he would have a suite there…. maybe if it was on Disney property, he couldn't decorate it the way he wanted to… or maybe like you said he didn't want the mouse that close to him( he he …)..I think the idea of you staying there and watching captain EO sounds awesome… the construction floor was kind of eerie.. thanks for sharing… take care… have a great day…. thanks… 👍👍👍👍

  6. This is awesome never knew Michael and bob had suites there!!! We stayed there a few years back it was about the price of a moderate resort on property. Dude what a throwback with the Disney village it’s funny to think about the different incarnations of now Disney springs. From Disney village pleasure island downtown and now Disney springs. I do like though they kind of went with a Michael Eisner esque story with the springs. Great job micah

  7. The reason he eneded up at The Hotel Royal Plaza was that he tried to book a room at the contemporary but they were booked. You wouldn't know it today but back in the 80s and mid 90s those hotels on hotel blvd were some of the nicest hotels you could stay at near the parks.

  8. My ME ME ME comment! 😉 Back in July 1983 – so the Suite had not open yet! – I was treated to a 5 nights stay at the Royal Plaza Hotel, as the winner of a national French Disney contest! AND … the following year, I became a Disney Cast Member and opened the Bistro de Paris (June 3, 1984) … and for 5 years I had a P.O.Box at the ex-Preview center, right across the Hotel! The Place was used as the Checking In Reception for people renting one of the Villas nearby …. and the back portion had a small Post Office … which transferred to Disney's Cross-Roads when it opened … and now being completely demished! Don't tell me that it was 40 years ago!! The Disney Village was some lovely place then, quaint and relaxing!

  9. I worked in Magic Kingdom in early 90s at Main Street Confectionery. The King of Pop was often in the park and wandered the tunnels by himself–and sometimes with friends such as Macaulay Culkin. I did see him one night walking with a child in tow as he exited behind Main Street into the employee parking lot where 2 rather ordinary white vans were waiting for him. One was for his group and the other was all security. The rumor back then was that he did have a private villa by the Contemporary. He was a huge star by this time and did some work for Disney–Captain Eo, so maybe he upped his accommodations.

  10. In 1988, my family and I stayed at the Royal Plaza for our Disney vacation. We managed to get a room on the top floor where the suites were located. By this time, MJ and Bob Hope no longer resided there. The suites now belonged to Burt Reynolds and Barbara Mandrell. We were fortunate enough to see inside Barbara's suite and it was massive. Not sure if it had been Michael's or Bob's but it was amazing. I returned there in 2009, and the suites were no longer owned by any celebrity.
