The Magic Of Player Freedom: Why Tears Of The Kingdom Might Be The Game Of A Generation

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is one of the best games I’ve ever had the joy of playing. That’s not controversial. But it’s not Game of the Year potential. Oh no, TOTK goes far beyond being kept within the constraints of arbitrary categories like ‘of the year’.

So is Tears Of The Kingdom truly the game of its generation?

  1. I'm about 13 hours in and I'm not sure how to feel. So far it's kinda boring. Fun to explore but graphically it's kinda bland. Framerates drop, story is not interesting etc. Hard time believing it's at a 96 on Metacritic due to the double standards Nintendo games get. It's an 8 for me.
