In this, the first Mundane to Macabre Mondays episode, I show you how I transformed an elegant (but not quite Gothic) love seat into a macabre Love (Never Dies) Seat worthy of a Gothic Lair!!!

And now, finally, I feel like the Halloween season is off to a start! Totally not jealous of that loveseat.
Wow, I admit I cringed when you took the jigsaw to the couch, but it came out fantastic looking! What great vision you have! One more thing, can you please not make us wait for so long for new videos? π€π΄ββ οΈπ·
I'm smiling like the Cheshire cat when Voltaire uploads, it makes my little black heart happy.
R.I.P Chaise Lounge, your sacrifice was not in vain!
11:21 Perfect, just perfect ππππππππππππππππ
Fantastic love seat! The skull and flowers were such creative additions.
The flowers add so much! Ready for the Halloween season with you two!
Sooo stoked for new episodes!!! May your love never die, in dark times and in darker ones.
Been waiting forever for this series to return to Gorey… I mean Glory!
Floral foam works if you want the flowers to stay in place
Vampirate is now my new aesthetic! I love that lol.
π€
Love this so much, weβve been talking about a love seat to replace our couch so my love and I can sit closer every night β€οΈ
Sick β€β€β€
Bad to the bone π
Best Episode yet! It turn out fantastic. You two look beautiful together. Just donβt let Orville take her place on the love seat lol.
super genial π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
Brilliant as always.
It looks Spook-tacular, Bro! π€π€π€
Mayumi always wears the best earrings. I love to see what she's wearing. Your videos always inspire me to do crafts I didn't think of doing before. Love you guys!
But I like the raven on the head look π. Good call about chopping the top off. It looks amazing for you and your π€. Looking forward to see the spooky finds.
It would be really funny if you temporarily replaced the skull with something super silly for April fool's Day. (Maybe even with a comedic fictitious back story).
It's always awesome to see you ply your craft whether its music or dΓ©cor.
You guys are so adorable
Aww you two are so damn cute!! π and the love-never-dies-seat looks amazing! Well done!
You're hired to redecorate my toy dungeon/YouTube studio. I need an "evil eye for a goth guy."
I never got the chance to ask but, what would Voltaire drive? Like if he could drive any car, what gothic vehicle would he drive? π¦π¦π¦π¦
You two are so cute together ππβ€οΈβ€οΈπ€π€π€
So badass
I adore watching these videos⦠but it breaks my heart that I have not one decorative bone in my body. I live in the lair of unappealing design choices.
What a beautiful piece! You did an amazing job. Bravo π€
So glad to see new videos of you. I was wondering where did you get your bracelets and wrist cuff from. Dark blessings to you my goth friend!
This is so beautiful. It also reminds me of winged skull tombstones. I'm so happy y'all are back, and I can't wait to see what else you and Mayumi have cooked up for spooky season!
It's beautiful!
I think it looks amazing! You did a wonderful job! And so glad to see Mayumi back beside you. You two are so sweet together π₯°
HOLY SHIT!!! When I clicked on this and had no idea Aurelio Voltaire made it! I love his music!
That look great, V!
It's so nice to see you and the lair again
Between your concerts and Homemaking you must be exhausted Thankyou so much all you give to your fans Great lounge love it Regards and G'day from Australia
Yessss the comeback and the project we didnβt know we neededβ¨π
Oh my goth! The love seat turned out amazing! Can't wait to see more episodes with you and Mayumi!
Yes sirrr
Love it! πππ
Sorry I missed your life but I really like your furniture.β€β€β€β€β β β β
It looks great. An amazing transformation.
Turned out extra spooky! π€π€π€π€π€π€π€π€
So cute
One of the future things you switch the skull out for could be an hourglass! The shape you were left with looks very reminiscent of those old new England type headstones.
I thought Voltaire got rid of Orville
Thanks for the video π
that couch is so beautifull!
Youβre so badass
I was honestly waiting for you to pull out the Rub 'n Buff to give it a little silver antiquing…it seems a piece primed for such a thing! All those little intricate nooks and crannies in the woodwork would have carried it off nicely.
It strikes me that the first coat of paint might have been a little difficult to work with due to it being one type of paint on top of a different one, creating a too-smooth surface for the paint and preventing it from sticking to the woodwork. A little light sanding to give it something to hold onto might have helped, kind of like when painting on plastic. But it looks like the second coat is hanging on just fine. Also, just a thought: it might be a good idea to get a piece of florist's foam for the flowers, so that you can easily remove it all as one if you decide to change the flowers up seasonally. You could build a couple of bouquets using a florist's foam base, and it would even give you a little more control over height and ensuring things stay where you want them.
Gotta say, when you mentioned that the woodwork wasn't really Baroque, my thoughts went completely somewhere else from Art Nouveau. I looked at all that gold and the ruffly edges, and thought Rococo…which initially horrified me at the thought of it in the Lair. But with that center fleur-de-lis removed, the parts that remain are actually low-key enough that it fits like it was made for it.
