  1. I love the Saxophone Guy 🎷 there's a comic spin off of The Lost Boys continuing the story and apparently the Saxophone Guy is a Vampire Hunter and him and the Grandpa are in a Vampire Hunter Group in Santa Carla and the Frog Bros. are trained by the Grandpa.. ooooh and David's still alive because technically he wasn't staked by wood or silver 😅

  2. Every time I watch the dinner scene with the garlic, I get a craving for spaghetti with marinara.

Also, I always thought the "Twisted Sister" one looked like Steven Adler from GnR.

Edit: The scene at the end when grandpa drives the jeep into the house…I always just figured he was sloshed and thats why it happened.

  4. Tim Cappello has also done sax work for the group Gunship. Dark All Day is their homage to vampire films and TV with a focus on David and the Frog Brothers in the animated music video. The direct-to-video sequels are OK, the third one I feel is better than the second. The second (The Thirst) tried to set-up a continuance, but Corey Haim died not too long after. There is a comic book sequel which reveals that Grandpa is a vampire as well, his root beers are blood and The Widow Johnson is who turned him. It was a decent read as well. The third (The Tribe) which sort of continues the story from the first two with some small changes to account for Corey Haim passing away, actively moves to also include other paranormal aspects and introduces the concept of werewolves to the universe.

  5. I always assumed that because Sam lied about the date, Grandpa dropped in on the widow Johnson and discovered she was a vampire (she probably killed her husband) and was returning home from having just killed her, hence the closing line. 🙂

  7. Rest in Peace Jan Fischer, she wrote the original screenplay and I acted with her in murder mysteries. She was shacked up with Robert Englund for a while. I will never forget she told me "One day you're going to the best Hollywood parties, the next day you're sucking cheesy dicks under an underpass for money"

  8. Another one of Tony's grandpa's "Hey, check this out" films, my grandpa was the same way. XD He had like a massive VHS collection (And later DVD) that he'd let me and my cousins borrow tapes everytime we came over, even had to sign 'em out in a book. Oddly, he didn't have this one. I still have some of his tapes in my collection.

Also, OILED UP SAX PLAYER! XD

  9. I totally didn't catch that. Alan Frogg says "but you passed the test?" Then Max responds with "don't ever invite a vampire into your house, you silly boy. They render you powerless". Then i think that Sam asked "did you know that?". Then Edgar responds with "of course. Everyone knows that". Btw, someone left the cave scene too early to talk about Michael bringing Star upstairs. Therefore, missing one of the best lines: "burn rubber does not mean warp speed". Also, there's "we don't ride with vampires. Fine, then stay here. Okay, we do now". I'm guessing Laddie wasn't giving much to do since he was a little kid. I do see any conflict with Sam. Corey Haim was fifteen when the movie was filmed. So, Sam was probably fourteen. Seeing his brother flying and yelling probably traumatized him. Yes, i agree that there should be a prequel with the grandpa. Too bad both Joel and Richard are dead. I totally didn't get until my recent watch a year or so ago that the grandpa knew. I thought that he was just being quirky. I, too, dislike Feldman. I watch a Podcast on YouTube called Hey, Dude The '80s Called. Feldman went on there, and was a total tool. Also, since they were in a new town, Lucy didn't want Sam getting into trouble. Michael does say on the phone that Sam didn't need a babysitter, and that he was old enough to take care of himself. Although, Sam freaking out on the phone disproved that. Also, I'm guessing that Sam taking a bath made it more believable that he would hear Nanook attack Michael. Interesting that you guys mentioned Near Dark. Jason Miller's brother Joshua was in that movie. Their dad Jason Miller was in The Exorcist. To me, the vampire makeup in this movie reminds me of Ragan's makeup in The Exorcist

  10. If you were not four years old Tony you would be able to appreciate and understand the significance of this film. What I like most about the film is how it works on two levels. I was eight years old in 87 but I saw it on video so maybe I was nine. I watched at a friends house with his 16 year old sister and a group of her friends that were having a bit of a gathering. The Corey Haim/Frog brothers stuff made it great to watch for pre-teen kids ( not sure about four year olds…. ) and the stuff with the teens made it also appeal to teens. No movie does this better. And few if any modern films bother trying to appeal to kids at all – everything is made for you adult nerds nowadays. Exclusively. You guys ruined the world. Especially for kids.

  11. Tim Capello is the sexy senior citizen sax guy in the "Gunship: dark all day" music videos there's the regular music video that's 3/4 anime and a quarter live action with the lost boys and blade at a concert that's being attracted by vampires… its fuckin epic, and the "power glove remix" that's the full live action video… lots and lots of blood and vampires😁… awesome fuckin tune as well!

I was absolutly hooked on the sequels around 2010 when they were coming out Corey Feldman is so over the top he's actually hilarious in the 2 sequels, and the 3rd one has a twist that's a shame they didn't do one more with that plot!

  12. Wait until Tony finds out there's an official comic mini series sequel where the Sax man returns, revealing himself to be a be a vampire hunter. He's glistening, not from baby oil … But from Holy water.
