I thought of an Interesting theory, now this may sound a but tinfoil hat like
What if our character is immune to the machine and gained some sort of secret superpower from touching it, notice how our character touched the machine than it turned on and knock them out, what if our character recieved a monumental radiation blast that just re writes his DNA and in the final part 6 we may see our character gain some sort of super power as a reward for completing part 6 such as immunity from all illness infections or maybe being able to run faster
