THE Live Show: Ohio State season opening win wasn't pretty but Buckeyes problems appear fixable

THE Live Show at Roosters is back and back on Olentangy River Road in Columbus talking about THE Ohio State football season and the Buckeye season opener against Indiana.

Former Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter and Justin Zwick join Austin Ward, Jeremy Birmingham and Roosters Nicole Cox to talk about that season opener and where things are going from here for the Buckeyes with the home opener against Youngstown State on tap.

And there was tons of great Roosters food, too.

  1. You guys should take a break from social media and message boards from time to time..not every OSU fan is disgruntled lol angry people on the Internet will always be angry people on the Internet lol it's totally cool to ignore it some times.

  2. Hey Birm. Used to respect your takes but if youre really insinuating McCord is a good QB then Im done with you. Please stop comparing Stroud 1st game to McCords. Cj 4 tds McCord 00000 clown. No comparing he SUCKSSSSS!!!

  3. You have to feel for Kyle he's the Elder Statesman. Reminds me of Michigan last year. Big Ten Conference Champion quarterback with a young more athletic quarterback nipping at his heels. Tough decision but the coach knows in his heart and has to put the team first. Hopefully Ryan day will make the right decision.

  4. It better be fixable! You have coaches making millions and a team full of 5 stars! In the end Day better get it fixed or like in the real world, someone else will get the job with the money. You folks better remember this, Bruce didn't meet the standards, Cooper didn't meet them either, so if Day doesn't he's no different.

  5. stop comparing strouds starting game vs mccords. Stroud threw 4 tds. mccord 0. i dont care how it happened. mccord has better offensive talent to work with and couldnt score once. its not comparable. scoring is the only thing that matters as a qb and if you cant score you arent helping the team. especially with this o line not being able to run simply blocking schemes.

  6. did this guy say donavin jackson is the best offensive lineman in cfb🤣 the amount of straight lying with a smile these people put on is ridiculous. no hes not. not even close. he didnt play like a top 30 o lineman. stop lying to the fans. we have eyeballs. the analysis is public knowledge. ohio states offense is like 70th. say its bad and move on .

  7. McCord did OK but not impressive. Could of had a touchdown pass to Harrison if he was tough enough and not get nudged out of bounds and should of had a TD run if he had eyes and saw the block right. Play calling was very conservative with way to many 2 TE sets. QB situation was handled horribly! Saying it was a QB competition and not playing Brown was ridiculous! If it is a competition then play your normal offense and open it up! That is the only way to see how these QBs perform! Play McCord the first half and then Brown the second half. Now you play crappy teams where you can’t judge the QB. Indiana was the perfect opportunity to see which QB is better! Day needs to grow a pair!

  8. Chip is our best RB, period. Been saying that for a while. Very decisive, fast, strong, just hard to get down. You can tell players don’t want to try and tackle him.

  9. Bob and Justin have history, and I respect that, but thinking this showing was acceptable is not acceptable. Who cares about what Clemson did, take care of your own business. From a view from afar McCord just does not have the swagger or the it. This is going to be a lost season, by OSU standards. The National Media, the polls, the Las Vegas odds makers are instep and down graded their expectations, this is not just me.

  10. Once again, Birm gets it .. while others sputter. "Wipe them off the map." Exactly. 🙂

Said with a smile .. but absolutely meant. The Buckeyes need to show who they can be, get confident .. and scare the bejesus out of ND and other future teams.

  11. Stover was awesome…until he wasn't. The time Chip got stuffed as soon as he got the ball in the backfield, was because Stover did not motion through to hit the rusher and I believe it was Fleming that missed his block as well. They looked confused on the play. Had they both made their blocked, Chip would still be running.😂😂😂

  12. She just threw somebody under the bus. Every competitive team wants to win…and they want to shock a powerhouse. To say you don't know what you'd do is like saying it's an impossible task. I don't think she should have named ppl in her assessment.

  13. Ryan day needs to go' bottom line he's done nothing for Ohio State he had urbans recruiting for awhile he had one big win vs Clemson years ago and nothing since he's can't win the big games shouldn't even madethe playoffs last year after getting dismantled by Michigan and that was with cj stroud never mind this year without him he will be fired after getting blown out by 40 this year by Michigan

  14. Great show. . . Mad Props to Nicole! I love the insight of JZ and Bobby as former players! People have no idea of the weight of the world on your shoulders when you walk on the field in that uniform with all the expectations of millions of people to live up to!!! I will take that win every week of the year!
