The Little Mermaid (1989/2023) side-by-side comparison

YouTube has domonetized my channel for not adding value through editing. The appeal failed. YouTube still happy to run ads for themselves but not share the profits with me. I have a backlog of videos to upload but do not plan on making any more.

This side-by-side comparison between Disney’s The Little Mermaid (1989) and its 2023 live-action remake is intended to illustrate the different visual choices made by two groups of filmmakers telling the same story.

  1. Oh, I never expected that you would make a comparison video of these two movies. I'm filled with joy about this as the original "The Little Mermaid" has been my all-time favorite Disney classic since I was a kid and now, as an adult, I've loved the live action even more (despite the criticism). So, thank you so much Matt, I think I'm going to watch this video on repeat now, get ready for tons of views just from me haha.

  2. Sorry you lost your appeal, that's not rational or honest of their evaluators. Like we all need more proof that justice is not working anymore. Your skills are sharp and with good luck good fortune will still find you and give a place to put your work that allows you to be as enriched as those of us who get to see your work. Find the place and make it happen. It's worth it.
