The Life of Aemon Targaryen

In this video, we are going to take a look at the Life of Aemon Targaryen. Aemon was the third child and second son of King Jaehaerys Targaryen and his sister-wife, Good Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Aemond was married to Jocelyn Baratheon, and they had a daughter named Rhaenys Targaryen, the Queen Who Never Was.

This video is primarily a compilation of selected passages from George R.R. Martin’s “Fire and Blood,” which is a companion book to his epic, high-fantasy series, “A Song of Ice and Fire”

  1. Great video on the forgotten first rider of Caraxes the Blood Wyrm. Aemon and Jocelyn didn't have any more children after 74AC until Aemon's death in 92 AC. There's no record of a difficult childbirth or any other medical issue either. Perhaps this was just how it was or perhaps there was something else going on…=)

  2. Aw. Normally I couldn't give a shit about the "tragedies" that befall royalty because… well fuck royalty… but this was a bit sad. I really liked how close Baelon and Aemon were. I get that as a sibling myself. The ending was really touching. Yeah, he could've killed 10,000,000 of the rats and it wouldn't have brought Aemon back, or lessened his grief. Poor guy.

…… though still fuck Royalty and fuck the Targaryens. Out of principal, mind.

  3. This made me so sad when I read it the first time. Jahaerys and Alysannes first 4 children are my favorite and they all died too young and the realm hurt for it.
