This is about U-853 I know the story already. Their was a book on this submarine published back in the 50’s.

This wasn't the last German U Boat attack of WW2. Maybe the last on east coast of USA. The last U Boat attack recorded was on a convoy in North Sea off the UK coast on May 8th. A Type XXI modern U Boat sank a merchant ship, Danish or Norwegian killing a number of crew. The U Boat escaped. Sorry to be a party pooper.

If I…had been a member of the U-boot 853, I would WANT my remains FREED from the iron-coffin that killed me, –FAILING my nation, Captain, & Kameraden. If I had any relatives/Spouse that survived, post-war, I would WANT to be ON LAND. where I could be 'visited' by family. Ignore the CHEAP and LAZY post-war g'mints of Doenitz and later civilian 'leaders!' It might be possible for forensic experts to "train" on my bones, HONORING Me & my Kameraden, in our last, but this time, 'Helpful, Sacrifice'. NO Submariner "dreams" of being wounded & broken, and then Drowned by water or asphixiated by battery-gas, and then drowned, –or knocked-unconcious @ the base of the escape-hatches, while dozens are drowned like crabs climbing the sides of the bucket that holds them. Dying subs & Dying-men are HORRIBLE things–a TRUE NIGHTMARE, REALIZED,–GET US OUT!–OUT US, GET! –RELEASE US! –EVEN if WE DROWN, let us molder above-ground–thought-about/pitied, rather than PRETEND we didn't want to be "disturbed"as if 'in-the-middle' of some Great-book/movie…–some LAZY & INSANE 'CON'-cept of Criminal-Callousness-conjoured/Co$ted-conspiratorily, while our Worthless-Elites drink chilled-Champaign, while laughingly banter about "Not-crying for them, –Argentina[–IN, Argentina! ]" ! PULL-UP, –ALL the wrecks! Dis-arm the ordinance in our broken ships, Pump-out the polluting-SLUDGE, –CERTAIN to KILL fish & Pollute beaches, because there IS "Local-SIN" as a Consequence…to the un-learned, EVIL-MADNESS…of International War… So sez Jek Silberstein
