Our First Time Watching: The Last of Us *When You’re Lost in the Darkness*! In 2003, a mass fungal infection sparks a global pandemic and turns its victims into bloodthirsty attackers. Joel flees with his daughter Sarah as the fungus starts to spread, but she is killed by a soldier who attacks them, while Joel is saved by his brother Tommy. Twenty years later, Joel lives in the Boston quarantine zone managed by the Federal Disaster Response Agency (FEDRA) as a smuggler with his partner Tess. When Tommy fails to contact them from his location in Wyoming, they try to buy a car battery from a local dealer but it is instead sold to the Fireflies, a rebel group that opposes FEDRA. Attempting to retrieve it, they find the deal has gone awry and Marlene, the Fireflies’ wounded leader, begs Joel and Tess to take young Ellie to the Massachusetts State House in exchange for supplies. They are caught by a soldier while sneaking out and Ellie stabs him when he tests them for infection. When the soldier tries to shoot her, Joel beats him to death. Tess realizes Ellie is infected, but Ellie promises them she will not turn. They enter a biological contamination area to flee the pursuing FEDRA soldiers.

Yea the whole body burning scene was rough. Like everyone looks disconnected and just how casually they are doing that really drives home just how many people are gone. More so it's gut wrenching to realize if we ever had a black plague level of epidemic that's exactly how you'd treat bodies. At that point there's just too many to handle with dignity. It'd end up just being "oh here's anotha for the fire"
They've done what a lot of shows are doing now by having a making of the episode documentary after the credits.
The disease is spread by flower I think so they barley escaped getting the disease but not eating the pancakes and birthday cake at the start

I have never played the game but i absolutely loved episode 1
Yeah, as a long time World of Warcraft (since 2005); I found that the Warcraft Movie didn’t really build up the characters or truly give any background, so non-players were somewhat ‘confused’. I loved it! I am just a little left behind in this show. Seems like another Walking Dead kind of show; but nope, haven’t played this game. So I am just a little behind in attaching to any of the characters yet.

99% of Video games turned into TV/Movies are crap.
The 1%,The Last of Us…To Hollywood and all TV shows, Streaming sites, take note. This is how it's done.
I can't name actors and actresses but I loved both Ellie and Joel. I was also loved them in the Game of Thrones; from there I remembered them. And glad I didn't watched anything about the game, I was thinking "maybe I can play it one day". But probably I can never play because it's too scary. My peak of horror was the Half-Life that I was able to complete; I couldn't managed the same success with the Half-Life 2 and there my horror series ended in the Ravenholm. (I don't count co-op games)
Im concerned cause even if the first season is good season 2 is still gonna be tlou part 2.

I am a super-fan of the first game. I was surprised about how much story we got in the first episode. I was very worried about this show, but now I feel relieved. The amount of detail is very cool. And the changes make it a little more exciting. I am looking forward to the next episode and your reaction to it.
I haven’t played any of the games but I watched some other channels to get an idea about what this was about and what all the hype was. All twd channels I’m subscribed too had been talking and waiting. I won’t say but I know what you meant when you said you wanted to say something and wouldn’t so you didn’t spoil anything. So what get it but so far everyone I’ve watched react to this has been impressed I’ve not seen a bad reaction,yet. So love yoh played the game rob! So I’ll continue watching with y’all!❤
Never played the game but i am loving this show.
The thing about tlou is how much it makes sense. The fungus is a real thing except it doesn't effect humans, it effects ants and bugs!
I thought the show captured the game perfectly…. So far!
