Definitely a Stalker, not a runner.
They’ve done such a good job laying themes, hearing an 80s song was enough to keep me in a level of anxiety even while I was enjoying the sweet moments.
Also in the carousel 🎠 scene, you can see GameStop in the background flickering in and out of “Stop”. Perhaps signifying that they should stop 🛑 making noise or stop from going any further…
Ouch on the Natural Wonders callout! 😂 Used to love that one and the Imaginarium.
I feel this series is missing some action to be honest. David and Ellie first scene next episode (when they talk about a mad men who’s killed David men) won’t have the same impact in my opinion

This episode was fast forward worthy for all but maybe 10-15%.

I just noticed how in the picture you see on his desk after Ellie gets into the fight both of the main rides you see both opened after 2003
I grew up in the Salt Lake City area and the Saint Mary’s Hospital is based off of Saint Mark’s Hospital in real life.
Only gripe I had with this episode was that the GameStop sign should have been an EB Games sign since it was still in operation by 2003
Without sewage treatment workers there would be no modern society. Everybody should thank their local sewage treatment worker!

When the Fedra agent is giving Ellie the "different paths" talk, the dog print on the key chain is the Naughty Dog logo, and happens to be the "right" choice in the scenario.

Ellie's flashlight glitches as an easter egg to the game flashlight flickering and you have to frantically shake your controllerr

BTW if you dont sub to The Deep Dive, you are doing yourself an injustice.
Idk I kinda feel like they could have stretched out the first game in two seasons since we’ve had some incredible backstories on characters that we didn’t know a ton about (bill and frank, Tess, etc). Maybe I’m just biased and want it to last so much longer but HBO seems to be rushing things a lot in their newer series from house of dragon to this now.
