I don'know about you but Ellie for me seems to be failing to connect her dialogue to the character.
Considering all the garbage that we've been fed these last few months; it was a pleasure to see someone do justice to an IP. They did a fabulous job setting the table and their depiction of the Quarantine Zone was awesome. I guess the question that needs to be asked is this a limited series?

Charlie, the shriek at the end of the episode is a clicker, it's peering over at them from the top of a building on the left of the shot, it's easy to miss but it shrieks down at them as the credits begin
What I like is that the things they didn’t directly adapt still advances the story. Like Sarah is a main character to me now. You feel the loss in the game and know it haunts Joel but imo, the way they showed everything from her POV and we saw little things like her going to fix the watch, her going to the neighbors, her actually having scenes outside of the outbreak with Her uncle tommy even if it was such a small scene made me feel so much more when she dies and will stick to me so much more throughout the season in a way it didn’t in the games. And the way their is such a huge difference in her in Elle. The writer said in the behind the episode that they wanted to focus on Elle and Sarah’s reaction to seeing Joel kill. Sarah sees Joel kill the neighbor and even though he had to and should have, Sarah is confused and sad and cries. When Elle sees Joel kill the guard, you see this gaze in her eye that is a hint of fear but also an embrace that shows a glimpse of how destined for each other Joel and Elle are but also how toxic in a way that is somewhat needed because the environment but also dangerous. It is the beginning of a bond that the writer says begs the question of is this type of love always good? They eventually are willing to kill and make extremely primal decisions for each other. Like Joel is willing to kill every single person on the planet and doom everyone to this apocalypse to save Elle. And Elle in revenge for Joel death in part 2 is willing to do and kill anyone to avenge her adopted father.

Somebody else can't get infected? Mean probability says yeah it should be other people but is never mentioned in the game the only instance I can think of is when the lies are told.
It was a fantastic episode. My only complaints are that it makes zero sense that the grandma suddenly got infected in the house while everyone else was fine, it really doesn't make any sense as they were all within the same space and close proximity.
Also I don't like that they took away a major Tess moment by killing Robert, in the game is showcased how much of a badsss she is but in this one he's already dead before they get to him.
Missed details, at about 16:22 you mention about the sound of the Clicker and go about saying it might be a clicker, it's actually the clicker and he even is in the screenshot you have the in video, standing on the top of the left red building and you actually see him move when he makes the sound in the show.
P.S. I find it funny that you said Tess is interrogating Robert, as its the other way round, she was the one beaten up by Robert's men and is held by them, but the power dynamics with Tess is as such that I can see how someone would think she is interrogating Robert instead, as they are all afraid what Joel would do to them once he finds out. :p

this proof that you can change some parts of the story as long as you stay true to the story, The last of us did a perfect job on this, that many others completely ruin. I was so worried this was gonna end up bad cause the video game adaptions curse but I am happy it's in good hands I can't wait to watch more.
