The mycologist from the beginning is fascinating. Without much hesitation, she gives the hard advice to bomb Jakarta and everyone in it (about 10 million people). That includes her and her own family (and likely her children and grandchildren), for the greater good of the world. There are many people who would tell you that "no one" would make that sacrifice. Or that she must either be evil or not love her family.

The first couple episodes really follow the game. I'm not sure if you're a gamer but you should give it a go. This series was really good! I enjoyed the character build up and how they did the effects.
The infected they had in this episode were called Clickers. They were the 2nd or 3rd stage(I can't remember) of being infected. They use echo location to find people. Super creepy!
