The first episodes is 2 episodes long. At first, they would release 10 episodes but Neil Druckman ask to combine the 2 first for more context, that's why It seems so short this time :p But I think the next one is a little bit longer !
The reason why the infected kissed Tess instead of attacking her is because Tess wasn’t resisting and this was the easiest way to transfer the Cordyceps. The infected only use violence when they have to.
