  1. The moral of the story is that the Emperor was wrong on every count. He became the very thing he set out to fight, and currently in the 41st milenium it's quite literally faith that is keeping humanity hanging to survival.

  2. The emperor – VASTLY – underestimated humanity's propensity to believe in something greater. This is what ultimately costed him EVERYTHING and lead to the Horus Heresy.

  3. great reacting except you kinda messed up at the end there. Just sit through quietly and pay attention. The end is supposed to be exactly like that, the whole storytelling is the lack of sound.
This is pure genius, the guys that made this video should get a Golden Aquila!

  4. The emprah tried to explain him that a religion has a power to manifest a warp entity that will be not beneficial for humankind as he learnt the lesson how the Eldar have manifested Slaanesh. The agenda was not to increase his power either anymore with religious faith because it would have been risking him to turn into a Chaos God which was the last thing the Emperor wanted. The old geezer only understood that Emprah doesnt want his religion but nothing of the why and how.

  5. its such a great story the emperor is trying to call out hypocrisy and flaws in religion only to make an athiest state regime that did everything he is using as an example of why religion is bad where your not allowed to so much as disagree with him and in the process ended up making it in of itself a matter of faith

  6. Automatic like!! Yeah I get to watch 'The Last Church' again!.
The 40K community is amazing, but I'm ashamed of them at the moment; None of them have suggested Richard Boylan's Helsreach. The Last Church is EPIC!!! But 'Helsreach shines the like the Emperor uncloaked. Seriously, do yourself and your viewers a favour and watch it, it's arguably the best 40K film; and that was a one man fan project; it's so awesome it can't not make good content, if you liked The Last Church, you'll Love Helsreach trust me! 😀 *
    * Been in 40K since 1990 – a 'Veteran of the Long War'; seen things man, stuff too, and ^ that thing is some quality stuff! …. man!
Edit: Never mind; it's not likely people are going to suggest something you've already done! Which is awesome because I won't have to wait for it

  7. Pregúntate? en todo lo que has creído, en toda tu vida es reducido a nada solo en un instante, pregúntate como te sentirías? y veras lo triste y vacío que te sentirás que es preferidas no sentir nada mas antes de reconocer que tu no tenias la razón.

  8. This is my all-time favourite from all of the fan created war40k content..maybe even my favourite animation – period. such a philosophical masterpiece. and on top of the irony of what the Imperium eventually becomes…but also the unification of humanity on the other side..Its the Nietzche's idea of if u kill God..people will replace Him with some other archetype..People need something to believe in..its just "chef's kiss" man..soo good..

EDIT: I always forget that i should read the damn book. SMH. Good that i saw in the credits and remembered who the author was.

  9. Even though the Emps didn't want to be worshipped as a religious figure, he demanded that humanity trust in him to steer them to greatness. He couldn't offer any proof of his vision of humanity's future because he was the only one "smart enough" (or enlightened enough) to see it. He demanded they believe him without proof. One might be so bold as to call that concept 'faith'. The Imperium of Man throughout Unity and the Crusades was already a religion in all but name and the Emperor was it's god or at the very least it's prophet.

  10. I start to hate that when fans create great WH40K animations, but when they get big the GW gets under their wing under monthly paycheck and takes everything the artist has and puts it under a paywall, and all of the artists are fine with it, meanwhile we see these videos deleted from free youtube.

  11. Thing is, seems like religion was correct to a point, psychic " priests" or devout might have peered into the warp, old gods memories still linger there in the deep right? And some might have tried to revive themselves. Atleast that's what i think might have happened.

  12. If the Emperor was moving and speaking once more he would decry the Ecclesiarchy and the Imperial Cult that has worshipped him so. He never wanted to be viewed as a god, only a leader to unite mankind and aid in it's ascension to the stars.
Lorgar worshipped the Emperor as a god and built an entire city devoted to him on his homeworld of Monarchia… The Emperor instructed Guilliman to evacuate the city then tear it down. He even contemplated performing the Edict of Obliteration again upon Lorgar just as he had done to the other two "lost" primarchs. It's quite clear that the Emperor has zero patience and/or tolerance for anyone viewing him as a deity.

  13. Its a good 40k story but they could have written the theological debate a lot better. The argumentation is unfortunately entirely level and this story would have been a masterpiece if the author would’ve just done some more reading on the subject.

  14. In a real world sense The Emperor is seen to be cruel or rather xenophobic to religion, removing religions with voilence or not as he does. Though The emperor isn't uncaring he has allowed few people to still wear like a christian cross or other stuff on themself, from imperial guardsmen and up. But ofcourse it is people he hold to high ragard and trust a lot.

But this is warhammer, warhammer 40k even and he is pretty justified here. As we know the big 4 chaos are as like the devil or even worse than the devil himself and feeds on workship, if you take in real religions they would literally become physicly real and twisted like chaos gods.

Religion in the warhammer universe is mostly feeding on negative emotion from the warp and the 4 chaos gods specifically just focus on the bad stuff of their own ideals who only wanna see the universe destroyed, as chaos gods just want to destroy, even themself until there is no life.

  15. This was a great animated version of this story, but..
I genuinely don't understand the priest Uriah's decision.
The truth of his experience was revealed to him, it doesn't matter that the message he dedicated himself to hadn't had a divine origin.

The experience that set him on his path was no less genuine, the work he performed was no less authentic.

The revelation of what he experienced against what he believed he experienced made his cause to help people just as altruistic.
Why could he not accept that his belief & dedication were just as valid even if he'd mistaken the source of his inspiration??

Why didn't he accept the offer to continue the work, just with a slightly different foundation to the basis of why he was doing it. It would have meant he continued to help & guide people with the same ethics & morals, but with absolute knowledge, verified certainty of where the message came from, he could've believed in that, even if there was no divine god like entity behind the scenes???

  16. Emps: See this fresco? Such magnificent art, and it was made without any divine intervention. Fanatics destroyed this kind not things. It's also an excellent metaphor for my argument. See how nice it is in the light? Kay, now let's burn it.

  17. I saw this a couple of years ago short after watching Hellsreach.
Glad you can see it. I'll watch more of your content while you discover 40k.
Welcome young one! Rejoice cause this universe is awesome.

  18. The Last Church is on of the most poorly written pieces of fiction in the Black Library catalogue. The author clearly is not a fan of religion and has never done their research by speaking to a minister or priest in their life. In reality, this should have been an outstanding piece of fiction if the author had actually done his due diligence and written the last Priest in an interesting way, even if the author wanted to slant it that the priest is wrong or whatever, that's fine! Just make it believable. instead we just get an idiot who clearly does not understand theology. Pathetic.

  19. The emperor seems like a rather obtuse fellow. Religion isn't the problem, people are. Taking away humanity's belief in the supernatural wouldn't change anything; we would still find other reasons to make each other suffer.
