THE JONAS VIRUS (The Immortal Hambies & Zombies) ALL OF US ARE DEAD EXPLAINED

Based on a webtoon of the same name, which is available on webtoons.com, links in the description, All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean show with an amazing premise.

After a science experiment to turn fear into strength goes horribly wrong, the local high school is overrun with zombies. With limited supplies and communication cut-off by the government, the students must do what they can to survive.

The outbreak is the result of a virulent pathogen created by Lee Byeong-chan, a former scientist turned teacher. Isolating, replicating, and refining a gene found within extremely aggressive mice that always inexplicably fought back when cornered by predators, the teacher gave birth to the Jonas Virus.

  1. The key to a good horror story these days in my opinion seems to be a believable, scientific premise. It's why I enjoy this channel and it's breakdowns.

  2. You can tell this Series and the Webtoon version are both heavily inspired by 28 days/weeks later in terms of the zombie appearances/ mechanism and also the act of Military (in 28 weeks later, the military dropped fire-bomb and nerve gas, which was the endings for the series and the webtoon respectively), also this series is like a tribute to Train To Busan

  3. Ironically the first 2 students to die by the virus where 2 byeong-chans sons bullies, karma as they where killed by the thing that was meant to protect one of the people they tormented so long.

  4. very late… but truth be told i heard that a cure is a big trope in zombie shows and not having one is a big twist… here is the truth for me I dont read books or comics and just watched tv shows and movies about zombies AND I HAVE YET TO SEE A SINGLE IMUNE OR A CURE FOR ZOMBIES So that show having that was a big twist for me.

  5. Ok so the virus actually was caused by a meteorite that fell in the East Sea with worms these worms would infect the fish they would latch onto. In the case of the mole's son I don't know if a worm got him or it was a fish. In 2017 so around 6-8 years after the virus in Hyosan broke out some Japanese fishermen caught a sea bream which had a worm attached. The worm then latched onto one of the fisherman's fingers starting another outbreak in Japan.

That is how the virus started in the webtoon and honestly the Netflix show was a total disappointment to me

  6. I love how the show made me feel at the first couple of episodes. It really gave me that feeling that all of it could have been easily avoided, if only people in charge listened to the father of the first infected boy ( I forgot his name). Also it continued to the nwxt few episodes, and after that, it really felt natural to see what happened next. Like it had to happen that way, and it couldn't be any other way.

  7. For a kzombie, the amount of characters and their screentime for audience to digest on a teen drama didn't help it. it broke niches early on, then went back to what teen dramas are. Love the melodrama from the "k" on kzombies
