►It began with Eragon…It ends with Inheritance. Not so very long ago, Eragon — Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider — was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now, the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders. Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the realy battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chance. The Rider and his dragon have come farther than anyone dared to imagine. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alageasia? And if so, at what cost? This is the spellbinding conclusion to Christopher Paolini’s worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

►Demibobemi (Demi) and I will be reading the entire book. I *HIGHLY* suggest you grab a copy of the book (https://amzn.to/2WTZVBE), and join us on our read along every Tuesday, and Thursday!

I also want to say this is NOT an audio book. This is 100% commentary on the published works by Christopher Paolini. I read the books to acquire context, and then Demi and I discuss it therefore making it transformative in nature which is covered under the Fair Use Act.

  1. Yeah I don't think Eragon can stay in the main land with that many dragons it would be WAY to disruptive to the rest of society and would be quite vulnerable to other magicians, but yeah he could 100% just go to vroengard and rebuild. Its the perfect location. Thats the only reason why I feel him leaving is forced. I believe Eragon does have good reasons to raise the dragons else where given the fact that the riders of the past did. Also it not like the dragons and riders are gonna stay where ever Eragon takes them forever just until the dragons and riders are responsible and strong enough to venture and patrol then land in a way that doesn't disrupt the peace

eddit: wow this was quite long

  2. So I finished reading Inheritance 10 years ago when I was in tenth grade. I had a creative writing class where the final project was to rewrite the final chapter of a book I had read. I procrastinated until the night before, copied and pasted the chapter and had Arya stay because I wanted them to be together. I was so cringe! 😬

My teacher said it was really good and had a "professional voice" 😂😅

  3. I feel like you guys should check out The Fork, The Witch and The Worm on your own time, its a few stories that together are shorter than Eragon, and i feel like his quality of writing is better throughout the whole book.

  4. I think another really good reason for Eragon to leave was so that he could really separate himself from his fealties to Nasuada and to the dwarves so that he could give his 100% to raising the next generation of riders

  6. I think for the prophecy’s, if CP wanted them to be set in stone and unavoidable, he should of had Eragon earlier on try to change the outcome of one of them or something, and in by doing so, something goes horribly wrong or some type of magic stops him from interfering.

  7. I’ve been following you guys ever since I stumbled across your page as I was looking for a free Harry potter audiobook. At first I was like “I don’t wanna hear all these people’s commentary the whole time”. But I soon came to love the commentary especially seeing Demi react to Everything for the first time.

Once you start reading Erica and I was locked in. Thank you again

  8. So this is one part I don't remember well, but at some point Arya is talking to Eragon and tells him a story of an elven fortuneteller that dreamed about killing his son? so he kills himself instead, and that was proof that the future wasn't set in stone, but without knowing the exact path of events that would lead to any particular outcome, trying to control 'fate' or some other shit was hopeless? Very off the cuff remembrance there though. Separately there is an exchange between Oromis and Eragon about Brom's fortune, which was to 'fail in all things save some?" or whatever and Oromis said that was a rather harsh interpretation and that a more neutral perspective may suggest Brom succeeded at a great many things.

All this to say that it definitely feels like a self-fulfilling prophesy situation, not one where Eragon couldn't avoid it altogether, and yet also hinting exactly at what Demi said, that future/meaning is always up for interpretation and so perhaps indeed the name/idea of the continent will change over the eons.

  9. i wish CP ended it after killing Galby. and all these epilogue chapters could of been the start of a new book series where Eragon sets up the new riders and ultimatly changes his true name in order to return to Alegasia
