The ‘illusion’ of green energy has come ‘crumbling’ down in Europe

Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says Europe is struggling with energy and the “illusion” of getting by with just wind, solar and batteries has “come crumbling”.

“Their dirty little secret they were getting all that gas and coal from Russia just to keep the home fires burning when the windmills weren’t running – that’s come home to roost now,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“We need a reliable base load source and if it’s not gonna be coal … and gas for base load on that scale, then it has to be nuclear.”

  1. The thumbnail image of this video, is proof enough that the so called utopia of clean green energy, is not only dead on arrival, it is completely idiotic; for starters, windmills and solar panels need a lot of space that could've been used for farming, building homes and towns. Two, both of them don't crank out enough power so demand for electricity will outweigh the supply; freaking yahoos with their Tesla cars and shit would be the cause of rolling blackouts and light pollution. Three, those turbines need oil to keep their bearings or other moving parts lubricated periodically, or they will grind and catch on fire. Four, I don't see gas fields being built all over the place willy-nilly unlike solar panels and windmills; I don't have an oil rig spewing crude all over the place where I live dammit, but I don't want a bunch solar panels outside of my apartment, in its parking lot either, nor huge ass windmills that would creep me the hell out on a daily basis as they tower into the heavens doing God knows what. So yeah, I don't see that hippie crap taking the world by storm yet.
