Dog Soldiers was ok but it was not the best. I'll give you the top three: American Werewolf In London, The Howling, and then Dog Soldiers. The first two are interchangeable. The werewolves were excellent and the acting, suspense and horror was on point. Dog Soldiers is on the list because of the good acting and the movie's ability to make you feel like you were there with the soldiers and that you needed to come up with a plan together to escape the home and the village. There will never be werewolf movies that can come close to the above mentioned movies because everyone is lazy and their acting abilities are poor. They'll have to take the time to place every hair on the werewolf and shoot each hair placement one scene at a time like in The Howling and An American Werewolf In London. No CGI! Along with that, the story and the acting will have to be superb. It will never happen.
Dog Soldiers was great because of the humor, the suspense it built, the feeling of isolation. Also the fact that there were well trained soldiers that could actually survive and not some woke 100 pound weakling suddenly becoming wonder woman like in Prey. The great acting, the realistic dialogue/interaction between soldiers, and the fact that the werewolves didn't suddenly become dumb & incompetent at the end to fit the hero narrative made it one of my favorite monster movies, not just werewolf movie. As a former military person I can attest that the chemistry amongst the squad was very authentic in terms how humor and banter between them is what helps you embrace the suck and overcome dangerous situations.
Dog.soldiers was creepy.. loved it

Give me the original Howling. Give me Dog Soldiers. Those were good werewolf effects. The one moment seeing this seems more like The Wolf Man, which may or may not be a bad thing, just not scary.
So is this about werewolves trailer looked pretty scary didn't get a good ratting. I watched axe man 2013 tonite that sucked big time it has to be better than that
