I've gotten concerningly close to the two-week mark without sleep on a number of occasions. One of the reasons I used to drink so hard, literally trying to knock myself out with alcohol poisoning. Thankfully I haven't had that happen in the last few years, but I still have no idea what caused it. One of the reasons shit that affects your sleep is so terrifying to me.

He does actually explain where the energy comes from in one of the videos, I believe the brute one. But the clif notes version is that the red marker is supplying all the necromorphs with energy. The markers are constantly outputting massive amounts of energy.
