The debut Bon Jovi is their only listenable album, Jimmy Barnes – Bodyswerve, the debut Giuffria ….. nothing from Kansas; Cheap Trick; Styx; Aerosmith ….. can't praise Animalize by Kiss although it's okay.
Agree with most of these picks, some great albums not mentioned. Santers – Guitar Alley, Q5 – Steel The Light and the self titled debut from White Sister..

Metal Church, Queensryche and Mercyful Fate released their best albums in 1984. I totally agree with that. Regarding Judas and Maiden – not so much. For me their earlier stuff was clearly superior. Ride the Lightning was great when it came out, but it doesn't give me the same thrill today. Pretty Maids' Red Hot and Heavy is a fantastic album. And I agree that Haunting the Chapel is one of Slayer's best songs ever!

1984! What a great year for metal. Of course i was 9. Love the Manilla Road, the Cirith Ungol, the Celtic Frost…but I'll go with what influenced me the most and what ive actually heard the most so it would be a toss up of Ratt, Dio, Prince, Scorpions, Van Halen, Iron Maiden or Metallica, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Wasp or Trouble, or Kiss….or grim reaper.
