Good show. Excellent topic.
Top 3
1. ABIGAIL- king diamond
2. Burnt offerings – Iced Earth
3. Heavy Metal Breakdown – Grave Digger
Bottom 3
1. 1916- Motörhead

The first three that I thought of:
Bal-Sagoth – Starfire Burning Upon The Ice-Veiled Throne Of Ultima Thule
Gamma Ray – Land Of The Free

Favorites:1.Scorpions – Blackout
2. Pat Travers – Makin' Magic
3. Iron Maiden – Killers
4. Ozzy – Bark at the Moon
5. Alice In Chains – Dirt
Hate to say it, but Love Gun came immediately to mind as a title track I do NOT like…or least not much. I know it’s a staple, but to me, there’s not much to the chord progression, and the solo always reminds me of a guitar scale exercise my instructor used to refer to as “ladders.”
Great show as ever gents!
Faves: Hawkwind "Quark Strangeness and Charm" ; Black Sabbath "Born Again" ; Groundhogs "Thank Christ For The Bomb"
Least Faves: Status Quo "In The Army Now" ; Queen " A Kind of Magic" ; Pink Floyd "The Final Cut"

2. Aerosmith – Toys in the attic
3. The Cars – Candy O
Least Favorites
1. Judas Priest – Screaming for Vengeance
2. Iron Maiden – Iron Maiden

Tool – "Lateralus"
Kiss – "Psycho Circus"
The Beatles – "Please Please Me"
Funkadelic – "Free Your Mind…"
Sly & The Family Stone – "Stand!"

Joe Jackson – "Look Sharp!"
Those are just some of many.
Decided to leave off most progressive rock picks. Least favorites? Difficult.
First favorites comes to mind. Testament : Souls of black, Savatage : Guttet Ballet, Kiss : Creatures of the night. Least favorite : Lizzy Borden : Love you to pieces (not a bad song, but easily the weakest track for me when it comes to this great album) , Mercyful Fate : Melissa (same reason as previous), Exodus : Pleasure of the flesh (just too slow start, prefer more aggressive Exodus. But it is not bad bad)
Battle Hymn and Mr Universe were absolutely on my list – both exemplary songs, and Torme is so ahead of his time on Mr Universe with the soloing! 3 drop dead classics for for me are
Scorpions – Lonesome Crow
Bernie Marsden – Look at me Now
Forefather – Ours is the Kingdom
Some Girls
Aladdin Sane
After The Gold Rush
Highway 61
Flick of the switch by AC/DC : by far my favorite song on that album.
Bad Reputation was the first song that came to mind for me. My other 2 are Demolition Boys by Girlschool though the album is just Demolition, and Steelyn Dan's The Royal Scam.
Least favourites – Strong Arm Of The Law – Saxon, Wild Catz – Tygers Of Pan Tang, The Book Of Souls – Iron Maiden (though i could have went with The Book Of Souls or Dance Of The Dead).
I love metal, but I never liked the song 'Painkiller'. It's the worst song on that album in my opinion.
Favourites: Tasty (Good Rats); Creatures of the Night (Kiss); Hair of the Dog (Nazareth); Point of Know Return (Kansas); Nothing's Shocking (Jane's Addiction); Next Position Please (Cheap Trick); Violation (Starz); Baby Snakes (Frank Zappa); The Grand Illusion (Styx); High Class in Borrowed Shoes (Max Webster); Fight to Survive (White Lion); Cuts Like a Knife (Bryan Adams); Bleed & Scream (Eclipse); Script for a Jesters Tear (Marillion); Sweet Music (Roadmaster); Purple Rain (Prince); Out on Bail (Legs Diamond); Help! 2. Children of Bodom – Follow the Reaper
3. AC/DC – Let There Be Rock
4. Iced Earth – Burnt Offerings
5. Bolt Thrower – IVth Crusade
Now these are just five of my favourites and they aren't ranked in order, just the order that they came into my head. Great songs that I've been listening to for many years and don't get tired of, even when I didn't listen to any AC/DC for almost a decade, I could still put on the title track "Let There Be Rock," and enjoy it.
Honourable mentions:
Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath
Anaal Nathrakh – In the Constellation of the Black Widow
Caladan Brood – Echoes of Battle
Corrosion of Conformity – In the Arms of God
Devildriver – The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand
Now for my least favourites, just going with ones off the top of my head that I can't stand:
1. Black Sabbath – Paranoid
2. AC/DC – Back in Black
3. Annihilator – All For You
4. Dream Theater – Octavarium
5. Iron Maiden – No Prayer For The Dying
Not a fan of any of these songs, and in some cases I'm not a fan of the albums either that they appear on.
Black Sabbath – Heaven and Hell. – Epic, classic track that changed the whole trajectory of Sabbath.
Motorhead – Iron Fist – not a great album overall, but The title track is great!!!!
Megadeth – Peace sells who buying. So good, so heavy….
Some favorites that I don't think were mentioned:
Headless Cross-Black Sabbath
Metal Health-Quiet Riot
Edge of Thorns and Hall of the Mountain King-Savatage
Stalingrad-Accept
"Don't Look Back" is an amazing song and probably the best track – by far – on this disappointing follow-up.
AC/DC :For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
Ozzy Osbourne: Diary of a Madman
Iron Maiden: Killers
Top 3
Queensryche / Operation Mindcrime
Elton John / Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Deep Purple / Burn
Least
Motley Crue / Dr Feelgood
Ozzy Osbourne / No More Tears
Yngwie Malmsteen / Rising Force
Chris Alo I have to disagree on Rust In Peace…Polaris. Christ, have you heard the last minute of that song?! The Polaris part is the best passage of music they have ever penned. So amazing, gets me looking up the tab every time.
Great to hear Christian mention ‘How Will I Laugh?’ though. Glad to see you’re not snubbing that great band.
Not sure which Chris on here is more of the real deal these days 🧐
Welcome Rob Lisanti to the Hudson Valley Squares Show; you were most enjoyable in addition to the other fellows.
Glad he brought up "Paranoid", and I know he said it doesn't suck, that it was just the worst song on the album, but I think it does suck! Always hated that song.
My least favorites:
Ceremoy – The Cult
Saints of LA – Motley Crue
Slang – Def Leppard
More Cool Stuff
Overkill – Motorhead
Denim & Leather – Saxon
Acid – Acid (cool female fronted band from Belgium)

2. Genesis – Invisible Touch (The song and album are a disappointment and a half. Why I still have this lame album, I don't know?!
3. Whitesnake – Slip of the Tongue (The whole album pretty much sucks. It's the reason I stopped listening to Whitesnake for a while.)
4. Warrant – Cherry Pie (Tacky song, tacky video. OMG, what a POS!)
5. Ted Nugent – Cat Scratch Fever (A juvenile song from a juvenile man!)
6. Duran Duran – Rio (I don't know why but I've always hated that song!)

2. At the Gates "Slaughter of the Souls"
3 the Black Dahlia Murder "Miasma"
1916 is so great, you cold hearted metal-roboters😁
