what happened to her vocal cords?
43:29 is a recall to Bilbo's bday party when he told the story of 3 Trolls to the little hobbits
@ 1:18:35 Sense when was it ever implied that the ring bearer is always aware of the rings location? If that were the case, At the start of "Fellowship of the Ring" Bilbo would've known that the ring was in his pocket instead of going into a panic looking for it thinking that he lost it. Not even Sauron was aware of the rings location if it wasn't being worn.
I wanted to read the LOTR novels, but eventually gave up as the tricky names of characters and places kept getting in the way of the story. But I do love the movies and it looks like you did too, so ignore the negative comments š Btw, did you know that some om the place names in LOTR exist in real life? Apparantly Tolkien spent some time here in my part of the world (Jutland, Denmark) and was inspired by names as Hjelms Dyb (Helm's Deep) and Isengard (IsgĆ„rd).
Jesus Christ both where so lost watching this movie lol and Roxy with her āthe stakes are high but we know he livesā, was annoying every time she brought it up, we know home girl just watch it lol
this the first time Ian and Cate got to work together, the BTS stuff is so adorable between those two ^_^
I'm guessing that the reason why the ring isn't affecting Bilbo yet is because sauron hasn't awakened back yet especially when it came to frodo having it when he had it it affected him more and had sauron in his head and has sauron followers after him.
They didnāt just film the movies back to back, they filmed them concurrently. One day youāre working on a scene from fellowship and then the next day it could be return of the king.
The Hobbit has a different vibe because it was much more children's book, where the Lord of the rings was definitely a novel for an older audience. That's why some of the scenes are a little bit cartoony and there's a lot of singing and such, because the book was less solemn and serious. I was a little bit disappointed that the song from when they entered Rivendell was cut out, I guess the idea of elegant elves up in the trees singing songs to tease the dwarves was just a bridge too far, lol š
Something to mention about Gandalf, the extended lore reveals the truth that he is extremely powerful. But as a Wizard in service of the Valar he has to follow certain rules and can't interfere and a lot of ways. His role is to act as a guide. He has to avoid interfering directly as much as possible. That's why we see him doing nothing but advising a lot of the time, but then having these moments of fantastic power when things get desperate. His hands are tied.
The extended editions are still the best way to watch these movies.
The scene where Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel and Saruman are taking in rivendell was all shot in New Zealand except for sir Christopher Lee who at the time couldnāt do the journey to New Zealand because of his age so Peter Jacksonās had to fly back to London where sir Christopher Lee was at the time to shoot his scenes and with the magic of movie making it looks like sir Christopher Lee was with the other actors
Honestly cant tell if you were joking when you said you dont know any other franchise where Dragons covereted gold – Literally dragon lore 101, from the stories of old, kids stories, almost any dragon lore.
Herodotus 484 BC has literature of more or less the predating of dragons and their effection towards gold, old english stories of knights and dragons also had the same effection towards gold (e.g. Beowulf, and many more). But, gold is a metaphor – the lore of dragons 'hoarding' the wealth of a town in ancient times was a metaphor for their spiritual or intellectual wealth. This 'wealth' being their specific destinies or abilities to fullfill such. It was the bravest or most knowledgeable who sought this protagonist out, overcoming it, and recovering the gold (opportunity/honour).
Over the years, the meaning or reason why Dragon love gold has changed, from a food source, heat source, to a embodyment of greed. E.g. in the tolkien universe, it isnt the gold itself that attracts the dragons, but the greed in which the gold represents., Again in tolkien lore, once a dragon has made a claim to a hoard of gold, it can fall to dragon sickness – essentially anyone who later owns this hoard will fall to the effects of greed, illogical reasoning and sometimes violent behaviours.
A little bit silly girls…
Here is Gloin, father of Gimli
Keep in mind that The Hobbit was originally written as a children's book, so the tone of it is completely different than The Lord of the Rings. The story is a little simpler and in some ways lighter than the trilogy turns out to be.
Got a jumpscare from John at the end hahahahaha
Smorg? Smarg? Who knows!
š¤£ā¤
These films are all tosh – wait until the Scottish comedian riding a pig appears.
Aragorn was 87 in the lord of the rings. So he would be alive in this series. 60 years prior
Can Aragorn show up? He'd be about 10 in this movie. You're gonna have to wait til hes a bit olderš
Please react to the animated movie
Ladies, sorry for the day-late comment, but I loooove the hobbit movies. People way-exaggerate their so-called mid-ness. So funny and epic in their own right.
The 2nd one (and 3rd) features a lot of Lee Pace as the elven king (legolasā father). And hot damn! š„µ
"Throw out my notes and die!!" Sounds like serial killer talk that Tara was mentioning… š¤£
Chick on the right in red is so lovely and feminine š„°
Every fantasy uses the lore that dragons covet gold and gems and riches.
The creatures that capture the dwarves, at the time when Bilbo dropped his sword, are goblins, not orcs.
While the Hobbit is a shorter book, they dipped back into the history of Middle Earth, and what was going on elsewhere at the time linking it to the LOTR movies, like the Necromancer, Radagast, and the meeting of Saruman, Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandolph at Rivendell. It gives a larger picture of what lead to the return of Sauron, and the events of LOTR.
One of the biggest reasons that Bilbo was able to resist the evil influence of the ring for so long was due to how he began his ownership of it with an act of mercy by sparing Gollum.
You have never heard of a dragon's want for gold? Isn't that like the most known or told fantasy?… Have you been living under rocks until yesterday or something?…
Some of these comments make me ashamed to be part of this fandom.. holy shit
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Whenever I see someone pull out a pad to take notes for a movie… I immediately know they're going to be to analytical…why take notes…. there's a BOOK!!!!
In the extended version of Fellowship of the Ring, there's a scene where Sam and Frodo actually run into those very same trolls turned to stones
In the scenes under the mountain, those were all goblins, which do look similar to orcs! And now you've met the disgusting goblin king.
If Bilbo was younger destroting the ring would have been much easier. He was much stronger and braver then frodo was.
Also frodo had the ring for 13 months and couldnt drop it.
Bilbo had it for 60 years and just drops it and walks away.
These āthe hobbitā movies are pretty good. I was never a huge fan on them but theyāre pretty good. I always thought the lord of the rings trilogy was a thousand times better.
"Who knew dragons coveted gold?"
what
I still believe this movie has a lot of visual clutter. The goblin escape scene gave me a literal headache when I watched it at movie theatre
āWhere is this Smokā š
Its not Orcs, it is Goblin different kind but looks like
The Hobbit book(a single volume), The Hobbit film in three parts. The Lord of the Rings book(single volume, but can be bought as three volumes), The Lord of the Rings film in three parts. They are both single books and stories just divided into 3 parts or volumes.
