In 1999, Dueling Dragons (or Dragon Challenge) and Gwazi at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Busch Gardens Tampa respectively opened to the public. However, both rides were replaced within two decades of their opening and the improvements to their areas continued with major thrilling roller coasters VelociCoaster and Iron Gwazi in 2021 and 2022. How did this happen? What were the rides like? This is the history of Florida’s dueling roller coasters (besides Space Mountain).

  1. Hi! Remember me from the stream, haha i made Dollywood and Kentucky Kingdom S parks hehe. This was an incredible video! Because of its length, this one clearly required some effort and time to complete. Your dedication to making quality videos has made you one of my go-to channels for engaging coaster content right now. I didn’t get a chance to ride dueling dragons but my dad got to and personally was very disappointed when it closed. However, I feel that The Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi are far superior to their predecessors.

  2. It's ironic how the rider that got the eye injury on Dueling Dragons had only one good eye and the eye that was injured was the good eye. I think it says it on Wikipedia as well too.
