  1. I must say, I really like these episodes that go into cultural and historical origins of paranormal stories. I'm just as skeptical as Simon, but that just means that his frequent "It's not real" spiels get a bit tiresome for me. You're preaching to the choir, Simon! I'm trying to enjoy the history of the story!

  2. Something I've always really appreciated about Danny is not only the Information, the Facts and the way they're presented, but rather the way they're being narrated. While it's mostly up to the Reader (Simon) to bring the Script to life through with the help of his skills as a Storyteller, when the story is so well crafted and put together by the writer, its contents alone are enough to move us and less is required of the Reader to convey the emotional content.

Simon is great at Reading Scripts, giving us straight Facts, but while he's really decent, he doesn't excell at Storytelling (not to the extent of people like Mr. Ballen), and I have always felt that in those cases, as is the norm for Decoding the Unknown & The Casual Criminalist, it's the exceptional Talent of his Writers that truly carry him, and he clearly has the good sense to recognize this through his selection of Writers. My point becomes really obvious when you've watched enough of Simon's content to have stumbled upon Scripts that aren't this good as in these events Simon has difficulties in bringing the stories to life (also, he's used to read his Scripts Verbatim, so he doesn't have the reflex of filling in with his Storytelling Skills. I've never said that he's not good at Storytelling, just that while he's good, it's not his Forte.)

Thank Danny for all the Stories you've delivered to us, and the mamy more yet to come! You're awesome, as always! And Simon, you're awesome too! It takes a lot to recognize our limitations, to know how to compensate for them and also to surround yourself with the best Team of people for you!

  3. I've been driving Uber, primarily late nights on weekends, for over 3 years in Madison Wisconsin, a town known for heavy drinking and college students. I have never once had anyone throw up in my car, though I have had some close calls. I know it does happen, and I've definitely heard some stories from other drivers, but anecdotally I would say it's a lot less common than you would think. If it was Simon's estimated a couple times a night I don't think anyone would do this job.

  4. High Point, NC here- got an ollllld phantom hitchhiker tale several generations old, just look up "Lydia phantom hitchhiker" or even simply "Lydia ghost"/"phantom hitchhiker" and it's one of the first results haha haven't thought about that in years since sadly we live in a very different time than we did a mere 15 years ago

  5. Simon, I love your videos, but could your editors please drop the music volume during talking. It’s really hard to hear, especially if using a hearing aid. Sorry to be boring and keep asking. But it’s a pain in the arse. Alternatively, any chance of a voice track only upload?

  6. It’s sociologists that also think people can change their sex. We don’t understand the human brain, everyone is different and pathologies present differently in every single person and thus these sociologists are barely any better than “telepaths”. They project their own pathologies onto the subject of whichever topic or person they are looking into

  7. The funerary practices and associated beliefs described are not specific to Japan but many other societies that weren't forced to abandon animism share similar beliefs.

  8. I want you to know Simon, I just had my first ghost sighting in my 42 years of living last week.
I was at work and I saw a woman wearing tight shorts, a sweater and bunny ears and I had a full conversation with her. I also know it had nothing to do with carbon monoxide.
I had an episode with hypoglycemia that made me hallucinating a ghost. But since I am a logical thinking person, I didn't think it was real after I came down from the episode. Diabetics shouldn't mess with too much insulin. Lol

  9. Love the channel & vid, but HATE the high pitch bells or chimes going over Simon's voice. I have hearing issues so that made it so I could not hear chunks of the video. It felt like knives in my ears for chunks. Took me forever to finish this video. Had to keep turning it off & taking a break

Probably just screaming into the void here, but man I HATE excessively loud music overlaying the video! I actually want to hear the vouce!

  10. Simon once again you demonstrate your small brain… The parents of all 75 children did not sue the school you read just a couple minutes ago 23 families sued which means 23 children or a little bit more for families ahead more than one child in the school but certainly not 75… Get it together if you’re going to flap your gums and voice an opinion about something at least get the goddamn information correct especially when you just read it 10 seconds ago

  11. Simon you should have your script writer at least be a little bit more accurate… Nowhere absolutely nowhere in the Bible does it tell you that you get to go to heaven for being a good person for helping little old ladies across the street saving babies from drowning or anything else of that nature according to the Bible you absolutely do not get to go to heaven for being a good person… Only thing that gets you into heaven is believing that Jesus is the son of God and your Lord and Savior and that he died for your sins and rose up on the third day… If you believe that that is what gets you into heaven not being a good person… If you’re going to talk about religion at least as far as the Bible is concerned at least get it right OK Danny. Or whoever is writing this particular script

  12. my theory, based on the reactions of all the other taxi drivers, is that these few decided to just fuck with her cause none of them actually wanted her there and these few thought it would be funny

  13. Simon Simon Simon shut your mouth shut your irresistible need to talk without thinking just shut it… You end the video by saying you have a problem with the Reverend talking about the ice cream… When that part of the story came up you were so fast to start criticizing the Reverend that you didn’t even pay attention to what you were reading… The man with the animal noises was cured by the reverent he stopped doing that…… Just shut up for god sake shut your mouth and just listen and think for a second to what you’re reading the Reverend cured that person… because that person comes from a place where they believe in that stuff so if you believe in whatever the Reverend is telling you it’s going to cure you because that’s what you believe… Which is what happened… The Reverend gave him A cure that was basically psychosomatic and it worked… So for the love of God Simon shut up stop voicing your opinion and listen to what you’re actually reading.

  14. Ah, Danny, Danny! My ex husband and I and now many of my friends love to visit cemetaries and grave sites, and we often will have a meal there with the dead [in their graves of course we do not dig them up to set in an extra seat] and ponder their lives and our own.
We are not being disrepectful tho. We are intending that if Ghosts or Spirits linger there, that we're visiting them kindly and include them in our day and conversation. And none of us have ever had a ghost or spirit follow us home, so I would say the Dead do not mind anything anymore.
Plus, cemetaries and other gravesites are so quiet, peaceful, and always quite nice, grass and flowers, trees with benches under them, these places can be the most green and natural areas some people ahve available. Sure, be kind and dont make a mess or cause a fuss, be respectful of the living who still love and miss the people in thse graves, but do not fear having some food there, goodness. The Dead do not care about anything anymore, remember?

  15. Oh Simon… I do hope one day someone can provide some sort of proof of Ghosts and Spirits that you can embrace. I do beleive you wish to beleive, but, if you demand Science be respected, you must enter these forays with less certainty of untruth, okay? Ghosts are real, and they have sceintific elements, as well as properties we cannot measure yet. Since I cannot imagine you heading out on Ghost Tours ready to debunk or find personal proof, I do hope that no haunting or disturbing event occurs that shatters your resolve in a frightful way. Because this can happen, and it's not fun or funny.
Enjoy your shelter of disbelief and science as the ultimate answer, because Sceince even admits for all it has discovered, created and unveiled, we still can only observe and explain less of the Universe and this Planet than is extant out there.
And no, I find the Hollow Earth, the Flat Earth and the Young Earth 'theories' to be laughable. Because Science CAN disprove these ideas, but it really has not disproven preternatural activity either.
