Look closely. Look carefully. Do you see it? Staring back at you from the dark recesses of the Mansion? A face. Something otherworldly. Or worldly, it’s not like it’s a magical creature or anything, it’s just a dead guy. Dang, ah, you know I was kinda going for a mystical, ominious warning kind of voice for this description but it seems to have fallen apart. WATCH

  1. Wondering what you're thinking about WDW News' reported rumor that all the nooses are being removed from the Paris mansion and contemplated being removed from WDW and Disneyland, with the possible exception of the stretching room. Perhaps Disney is becoming too Woke? Why remove all except for the stretching room where the "association" becomes blatant? And if it's removed from the stretching room, you lose the entire point of many of the story lines! First Red, now this?

  2. The reason Rolly Crump didn't recall designing the HM wallpaper design is because he didn't. Look up recent interviews with Tania McKnight Norris, who was an interior decorator Walt hired to work on the New Orleans expansion. She confirms that she designed the HM wallpaper face when interviewed for the 50th celebration.

  3. The hidden faces are one of my favorite features of the ride! Dallan, have you done a video of how Jean Cocteau's 1946 "La Belle et la Bete" design helped inspire the Museum of the Weird and hidden faces of the Mansion? Those arm torches at the end are directly from the film!
    You are awesome.

  4. Hi Dallin! I’m the Southern California State Director of MUFON. I’m a UFO Investigator.
Thought I’d get that out of the way up front! Lol!

I am an old OG Disneyland guy. Went on Adventures In Inner Space a bunch of times. I once took a girlfriend on the ride, and she decided it was a good place to… um. I told her, “They have infrared cameras in here, maybe wait for the toboggan.” 😂 I didn’t say anything that cool, I just said exnay on the Monsantolay. 😂

I love your videos. I’ve watched every one actually.

So have you ever seen a UFO?
    😂🛸

    Wonderful work Dallin. Keep on!

(I have a Disneyland UFO case if you’d like to message me).

  6. A lot of the "wrought iron grillework" like the fireplace screen, the transoms above the doors, and the cemetery gates have faces. Rolly's book "It's Kind of a Cute Story" is very interesting and gives the reader a not-so-common behind-the-scenes account of what it was like to work at Disney, as well as his life as an artist outside of The House of Mouse. It also tells the tale about how Crump nearly lost his life at the hands of a burglar that broke into his gallery late one night. It's book I recommend.

  9. The windows on the front of the mansion are eyes, the chimney is the bridge of the nose and the rounded bay window is the mouth, the window panes are teeth. 8:45 Surprised you didn't mention it, saw it when I went as a child. Can't not see it.

  10. Here’s a face you didn’t mention! I just noticed this one recently after having been on the ride dozens of times. In Disneyland, as you leave the graveyard – the mausoleum is a giant face with fangs and teeth that swallows you and then presents the Hitchhiking Ghosts. The final raven in the graveyard is sitting on this face. I never noticed it because by the time the doombuggy swings you around to see the ghosts, you barely glimpse the raven and then you are through the mouth.

Keep up the great videos! You’re delivery and sense of humor crack me up. Thanks for all your work!

  11. I don't think the gargoyles are meant to be bats exactly. Gargoyles are usually abstract, demonic-looking creatures with various animal aspects (bat wings, claws, fangs, reptile scales, etc.). And as for "that…thing" in the concept art Walt was looking at, that looks like a blemmye to me. They were creatures from Greek and Roman legend who had no heads but had faces in their chests. A face where it shouldn't be – totally on brand for this video! Too bad that guy didn't make it into the ride.

  12. Can you address a theory I had that, since Constance in her stretching room portrait has the same hair bun as the tightrope walker in her portrait, they might be the same person? Like, what if that’s Constance in her youth, a daredevil before she became a murderer?

  13. A few years ago I got to do a backstage tour of haunted mansion and the cast member leading our tour told us there were 999 Happy Haunts but so many more Unhappy Haunts and pointed out the wallpaper, the skulls in the wall and doors.

  15. My thoughts: after seeing the new haunted mansion movie there was a scene where one character is in the endless hallway in the spirit realm and the clock strikes 12:00 and the hat box ghost appears in the hall way and all the ghosts start hiding, one ghost hides in a candle when he hides in the candle it shows a face on the candle in the movie, that could in theory mean that in the haunted mansion rides Where there are faces on things it could be ghost hiding in the objects.

  16. Ok. Loved this video but, i was waiting to see if you caught, at least to me, one pretty big face. I use to point this out as i trained people to work at the WDW mansion. If you look at the front of the Mansion, the Mansion is looking at you. The doorway is the mouth. There is a nose area and the two upper windows are eyes . The "mouth " has a pair of upper and lower fangs and the arched roof above the windows are the eyebrows.
