  1. The reason why it is actually running smoothly and mid graphics is your ram. Your graphics card is borrowing some of your ram as vram/intergrated graphics thus making it look normal.

  2. The problem is, gta 5 is from 2013, and itself is based on the same rage engine as gta 4, which came out same year as 280 in 2008 afaik. How about testing it in other games from 2013, lets say crysis 3 with decent settings? It just cant run the game, so the classic scenario that a 6 year old gpu (2008 card, 2013 game) cant run modern games at decent settings still remains valid for the 280. Not talking bout 2014+ games at all, they are all optimized for DX 11

One of the few cards that break this stereotype is ofc the 1080ti.
    The 980ti
    And the HD 7970

  6. G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon,
I am still using my GTX275SOC 1.8GB in my Windows XP PC paired with a C2Q 9650, 4GB & DDR2-800 mated to a 20" 1650×1080 monitor, Awesome for my Retro Games,
I am also building a "Yeah I know it's Overkill for XP Gaming" PC (got put on the back burner due to things being a bit crazy last year like moving home), it currently has a i7-2700K, EVGA Z68Micro, 8GB DDR3-2166, EVGA GTX780Ti SC with EKWB Waterblock, EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Modular PSU & will be in a Fractal Focus G Mini, just waiting to see if I can find a Pump/Res at a reasonable price, if not will just mod an AIO to include the GPU

  7. The performance is amazing for a 14 year old graphics card running a modern game. I had two Gtx 280's in sli and a core 2 duo wolfdale e8500 3.3ghz cpu, 4gigs of ram, and windows vista home premium 32 bit back in 2008. And the performance was good but my Gtx 280's were defintley bottlenecked by the cpu and the low amount of ram the operating system had acess too. I should have bought a quad core cpu more ram 8gigs would have been plenty back then and bought the 64 bit version of vista home premium. You should get another gtx 280 and make another benchnark video of them running in sli. I remember it was even possible to get a third gtx 280 and run them in tri sli mode but that's just mental and requires a shit ton of power supply cables. Thanks for posting this video it reminded me of the first computer I built.
