We’ve always heard stories of roller coaster accidents. Incidents like the El loco accident of March 25, 2019, and the Kentucky Kingdom accident of June 21, 2007, have shocked the world in the past and also led to a lot of changes in the theme park industry. However, both events pale in comparison to the Big Dipper Roller Coaster accident of May 30, 1972, an ugly event that claimed the lives of five children while maiming sixteen others!
This is the horrific tale of the deadliest and most terrifying roller coaster accident to ever occur.

the big dipper accident is the worst of them all and I hope is everyone is ok with all these accident happen.
Unfortunately the road to safety is often paved with blood. This accident happened about 5 months before my mother was born. Her and I are both adults now, but it's hard to believe something like this was happening that recently.
I've never been on a roller coaster because they seem like a horrifying thing….
Wow now this is tragic but interesting that people had to get hurt or die to put more modern safety cautions
You always produce what I've never heard before. Great video!
Break man on a roller coaster to slow it down around the bends is quite the responsibility.
This is insane.
Stop with the click bait images…
Dang it really dipped out
That’s a final destination movie. So sad
Why in the hell would anyone think that a roller coaster suddenly flying backwards that has NEVER done such before was done as a “joke” ???
I don't think I've heard of the el loco accident despite its recency. In case anyone else is in the same boat: There isn't much info out about it (assuming since it has to do with a big casino) but it sounds like another case of a person without use of their legs being allowed to ride when they should have been refused. Unlike previous similar cases, it does sound like the victim lived, though apparently her injuries have never been shared.
subbed hope you can too
This narrator has a pleasant smile on his face while explaining these details. 🤭
The person I feel the worst for was the break man, it had had be a terrifying job and at that moment, just terrifying as the break man knew what was going on the second the breaks didn't work.
Planted a tree for the 50th anniversary and “statue is under consideration” pfftttt
that was britain in the 70s. zero health and safety, but they made up for it by putting traumatising PSA's randomly on TV of kids dying in horrific ways.
Just for some constructive criticism, I'd really rather stare at relevant photos than have this seizure inducing movie and stock footage rushing past. It's too much. Let the story tell itself. You don't need to show 2 second long footage of teenage boys working on a bike just because you said the words "teenage boys." That's …dumb, really.
Your channel has really good potential, but you're really overdoing it with the videos. I'm looking forward to seeing it grow and improve!
These stories are always so sad. The victims were probably so happy-go-lucky that day and then …………….. DISASTER.
skill issue
My parents let me go on all kinds of questionable rides and what not. I wasn’t loved as a child.
66 😳
When explaining the defects of the Rollercoaster 🎢 you should use some sort of animated diagram .
This is such a bizarre mix of real footage and irrelevant video clips from other places. It’s very distracting.
It was 1972, safety had only been invented a few years before. Probably didn’t have time implement it yet. The staff probably didn’t even know about the concept.
I grew up in the half way in the 80s and all through the 90s . Been going on roller coasters since I was five and as I got older its been safe every time im on . I guess you never know when it comes to roller coasters
Goodness they were really ignorant in 1973. What kind of joke would that be for a roller coaster to derail?
Wow this was so long ago that my parents weren’t even born yet! my mom and dad were born in the early 70s.
