  1. This novel is actually the main source of inspiration for a novel I’m currently in the process writing, just because of Blood Meridian’s layered meanings and ideas that could result in any form of introspection imaginable. McCarthy has honestly created one of the most evil antagonists within literature and it’s amazing yet horrifying at the same time. I’m just glad I can learn from and incorporate some of his works. Obviously, my writing will never rival that of what McCarthy’s published, but it’s such a cool feeling to find new meaning and drive in order to build something of your own.

  2. Right around the 45.00 mark you mentioned the the descriptions of the Comanche and what stood out was the one wearing the conquistador armor. That's actually based on a real person named iron jacket who was a Comanche chiefton and medicine man. The history around this man alone would make for an interesting wendigoon entry.

  3. Interestingly I interpreted The Kid, who later became The Man, killing that 15 year old boy towards the end of the story as The Man killing a version of himself, seeing in this kid his own violent tendencies and snuffing out the flame before it has a chance to catch again, or even perhaps sparing this boy the horrible fate he’s endured. It also reminds me of the scene early in the novel when The Kid meets The Hermit who shows him slave ears from earlier in his life. The Hermit, like The Man, regrets his violent past yet wishes to keep artifacts as proof and warnings of those violent acts. The Hermit also stands over The Kid in the middle of the night, perhaps seeing what The Man sees in the 15 year old boy he kills. This creates for me a very satisfying, yet dark, full circle moment.

  4. I just found out that, not only is the book based of the Glanton Gang, but that the Glanton Gang themselves ended after John Joel Glanton and most of the gang were scalped themselves. Ironic dosnt even describe that right, lmao.

  5. I thought about it long and hard and I am certain. Wendigoon is definitely the only creator that has a snowball's chance in hell of getting me to watch a 5 hour video. And I somehow had no idea who he was a week ago. I found him because of Donut, Branden and Electrician.

Edit: And I watched it. The whole thing. Great video, Isaiah!

  7. A 5 hour video about literary goreporn. People who like this book are full of shite and think big fancy words make things better. The book is deplorable as hell and boring to read. Theres only one decent character and hes just your basic run of the mill Hugh Mungus from Mad Max/ or Bane from batman type character he just has more prose….
